As we are now a few days into 2026 we would like to remind our families that the Christmas tree along with the flower and Christmas tributes that were deposited around the tree and in our communal area in the grounds will be removed from the 12th of January 2026.

Wednesday 17th December we held our Christmas Carol and Memorial Service. A time filled with music, remembrance, and heartfelt reflection. It was truly moving to honour the memories of loved ones while sharing peace, hope, and togetherness.

A special thank you to Ashleigh the Celebrant-Whitstable & Beyond , Reverent Stefan Thomas , Hannah and Ellie from Pilgrims Hospices and everyone who participated, attended, and supported this meaningful service. Your presence made the evening so special.
We even had 4 legged friends joining us this year!!!

We’ve introduced a new way to say goodbye to the communities of Somerset with an immersive funeral venue at Sedgemoor Crematorium.

Last night, our team at Sedgemoor Crematorium hosted an exclusive launch event for funeral industry professionals. Guests had the opportunity to see the transformation first-hand and discuss how these innovations will support families in Somerset and beyond.

Developed in partnership with Obitus the chapel has been designed to transform how we celebrate life and honour memory. With cutting-edge technology, tailored sound and visuals, and immersive themes, it enables a level of personalisation not currently available anywhere else locally.

This week, our site at New Southgate Cemetery & Crematorium, proudly honoured the life of Dorothy Lawrence, believed to be the only woman to serve on the front line during the First World War.

Disguised as a man, Dorothy joined the trenches in 1915 and served with extraordinary courage and resilience. Her bravery, individuality, and pioneering spirit continue to inspire generations.

A new memorial headstone has now been placed at her resting place, ensuring her legacy is recognised and remembered.
