This afternoon with Marcus was something everyone needed. The beat pulled them residents out of their seats!. You could see residents leaning into the music, joining each other on the floor, and letting the moment take over. Marcus kept the energy steady and kept everyone involved without ever pushing too hard. It felt easy, warm, and real. The kind of afternoon where people connect without thinking about it, where the music does most of the talking, and where you leave feeling lifted. 🎼 Thank you Marcus we look forward for the next visit!

A touch of sparkle here and there ✨ and then voilà, the most beautiful Christmas decorations began to appear. Everyone added their own style, and the table slowly filled with colour and little details that made each piece special. Residents enjoyed some Christmas crafts and it already feels like the season is settling in. ❄️

We had a lovely concert afternoon with Mark & Louise Their music drew everyone in right away, and before long the room was filled with singing and plenty of dancing. It was great to see residents joining in, sharing smiles, and enjoying the time together. We can’t wait to have them back for our Christmas party! 🎄

We had the best time visiting Pughs Garden Village Cardiff and soaking in every bit of Christmas magic. The twinkly lights, gold decorations and music made it feel like we’d stepped straight into a winter wonderland. 🎄

We wandered through the displays, warmed up with a cosy brunch and then picked out our Christmas jumpers for the season. Spirits were high and the day was full of festive energy from start to finish.

A big thank you to our driver from VEST Community Transport for getting us there and back so smoothly. It was a Christmas outing to remember. ⭐

A gentle reminder that our Christmas 🎄 raffle is now live, and we’d love your support. The draw will take place on 6 December during our Christmas market, and tickets are available at reception.

All proceeds will be donated to a charity that our residents will choose together, so every ticket helps make a real difference.

Our residents started their morning by making apple and cinnamon puff mini pies, 🥧 and the home filled up with the warm scent of baking apples and cinnamon. You could smell everything coming together even before the first tray went into the oven.
Everyone took part. Some cut the apples, others filled the pastry squares, and a few brushed the tops before baking. By the time the pies were ready, the kitchen was busy and the trays looked great.
The best part came at the end. Once the pies cooled a little, everyone enjoyed the flaky pastry with a scoop of ice cream. The warm spice and cold ice cream made the perfect finish to a cosy morning activity that brought a touch of winter into the day.

Choir Rehearsal update! 🎶
Today’s rehearsal with Jacs and Ben from Forget-me-not Chorus went beautifully. The residents have put in a great deal of effort and dedication over the past few weeks, and it really showed in how engaged and confident they were throughout the session.

They’re now well prepared for our Sharing Day on Wednesday , 10th December at 2:30 PM, where they’ll perform for family and friends. This event holds real meaning for everyone involved, and we’re looking forward to sharing their progress and love of music with our community. 💜

“At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.” 🌺

Today we came together to mark Armistice Day with reflection and respect. We read poems that carried the voices of those who served, shared stories of courage, and learned about the meaning behind the poppy. The sound of old war songs reminded us of the strength and sacrifice of so many. Our residents created a beautiful poppy wreath, a heartfelt tribute to those we remember. At 11am, we joined our other homes in two minutes of silence a simple, powerful moment to give thanks to all who gave so much.

Our residents spent a wonderful day exploring the Cardiff National Museum. The halls were filled with history and beauty, Claude Monet’s breathtaking paintings, intricate 15th-century sculptures, and fascinating fossils from the Ice Age. We ended the day sharing lunch together in the museum café, surrounded by the building’s incredible architecture. A big thank-you to our VEST Community Transport driver for helping make the day so special.
