We were so happy to welcome En Pointe Theatre Arts School for a special community visit. The young dancers shared beautiful routines full of confidence and skill, guided by their instructor and supported by their parents. 💃🩰
Our residents watched with big smiles, clapped along, and enjoyed every minute of the performance. The dancers brought wonderful energy into the space and made the afternoon feel extra special.

To celebrate the opening of the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, our residents took part in a special torch-passing moment. Hand to hand, step by step, they made their way to the finish line together, sharing smiles and plenty of pride along the way. 👏🏻

Our residents have been getting creative and helped design an Olympic torch inspired by the grand opening of Milano Cortina 2026.
And the big moment is almost here… the opening ceremony will be on TV today, so we’ll be tuning in and cheering along 📺. And because one celebration isn’t enough… our Winter Mini Olympics return next week, Penylan style!

Today our cooking club enjoyed a little taste of Italy 🇮🇹🍝
The idea began during a reminiscing session, where residents were sharing memories of their trips to Italy and the meals they loved while travelling. Those conversations inspired us to bring that experience into the home through cooking.
Together, residents mixed fresh pasta dough, chopped spinach, and prepared a creamy spinach and ricotta mixture. Some rolled and cut tagliatelle, while others shaped spinach and ricotta ravioli, each one carefully cut and prepared with care.
Once cooking was complete, everyone sat down to enjoy the pasta at lunchtime, served with a lovely homemade creamy sauce. The meal was enjoyed by all, and there was a strong sense of achievement knowing it started as an idea sparked by shared memories and turned into something delicious on the plate.

A wonderful example of how reminiscing can lead to meaningful moments and shared pride ❤️

We would like to share a lovely moment from today. Natalie our Business Administrator was surprised with a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a thank you for her continued commitment and dedication to our home. It means so much to see the care, effort, and leadership she brings every day recognised and appreciated. Thank you for everything you do for our residents, families, and team.

What an afternoon to remember. 🎶
Our residents had a wonderful time with the visit of Harmony Brothers , singing along, dancing, and enjoying every moment of the concert. Friends and family joined us too, making the afternoon even more special. Smiles, movement, and great music brought everyone together.

A little afternoon tea to brighten the day ☕🍰
Fresh finger sandwiches, beautiful cakes made by our head chef, and soft music set the tone for a really gentle afternoon. It was a chance to enjoy the moment, share a few meaningful conversations, and spend time together in a calm, comfortable way.
Simple, thoughtful moments like this are what make afternoons feel special at Penylan House 😊

Today we had great day out at the local pub, The Claude. The gents enjoyed a proper lunch, a well earned pint, and some good company, always nice to get out and about.
A big shout out to our VEST Community Transport driver for taking great care of us, keeping everything running smoothly, and making the trip there and back so easy. Much appreciated by everyone. 🍻

On Friday, we attended the National Activity Awards 2025 in Liverpool and had an amazing experience being part of an event that celebrates the very best meaningful activities. Hallmark Penylan House Luxury Care Home being recognised as finalist in the Working Together category reflects the creativity, planning, and teamwork our lifestyles bring to activities every day.
It was inspiring to spend time with others who share the same focus on person-centred activities and to see this work being acknowledged across the sector. Thank you to National Activity Providers Association for organising such a well-run awards and conference, and to our team for representing our service so positively. 👏🏻
