We were delighted to welcome back the absolutely outstanding Falconry UK yesterday who introduced us to a variety of birds and gave such an interesting talk about each one.

We all had the opportunity to get close and hold the birds, it was absolutely magical - Thank you so much for such a wonderfully interactive time ☺️

Lyndon Jones is a wonderfully talented musician and he played a lovely selection of piano pieces for us to listen to and sing along with.

Music definitely lifts the spirits and is . ☺️Turn up the volume and enjoy a small section of his playing on the video clip

Julian, a much-loved resident at Llys Cyncoed Care Home, celebrated his 99th birthday in spectacular style with a surprise concert from friends and former colleagues from the Welsh National Opera. Over his lifetime, he has performed in world-famous venues like the Sydney Opera House and Teatro alla Scala! 🎉

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming some lovely children from a local school here last week to take part in our annual Easter Egg Hunt, and as you can see there were some very good "hauls"!

Thank you all for coming along and bringing a lot of smiles to a lot of faces - enjoy the chocolate!!

It was a joy to present our wonderful Mollie with a "GEM" (Going the Extra Mile) award this week.

Mollie is a highly valued member of our Housekeeping team, and is always more than happy to help with anything at any time.

This week we had the pleasure of visiting the https://museum.wales/cardiff who have the most incredible exhibition entitled "Museum of the Moon".

It was a fascinating experience and one which was so enjoyed that we will be going back for a second and possibly third time so that more people can enjoy the display☺️

We have been making the most of the recent gorgeous weather and getting out and about in to our beautiful garden.

It's lovely to see everything start to come in to bloom and our external lift ensures that this magnificent outdoor space is easily accessible.

Gardening club are busy with table top gardening and planting seeds which will then be transferred to the raised flower beds for everyone to enjoy.

2026 takes place on Saturday, 28 March, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, this year is the 20th anniversary of the global "lights out" movement.

Organized by the WWF, it encourages individuals and businesses to switch off non-essential lights to raise awareness for climate action and environmental protection

Here at Llys Cyncoed Care Home we have the truly amazing Linda who is not only incredibly creative, she is passionately driven in all aspects of environmental awareness, recycling and sustainably

Linda has foraged in our garden and has created this lovely display which is in our Bistro and gives everyone the opportunity to write a pledge (big or small) and commit to doing something differently to help protect our world - this will be here throughout this week.

Thank you Linda for being our "Recycling Police" 😍, we are all truly grateful for everything that you do.

Nic calls herself our "Posh Dining Lady" and she spreads habitual joy and happiness when serving meals, snacks and drinks to our residents.
