"Thank you to the whole team who were there for me during my induction and birth (induced 38 weeks +6 days and birthed 39+2 due to having found out I had Obstetric Cholestasis). I saw Katie and Amy when I first got there and during my second day on the ward, both nights on the ward I had Alannah and students - all were absolute stars and really made me feel safe and comfortable. I was nervous as this is my first baby, they all made me feel so at ease, explaining all steps and what they should do and what will happen if it works as it should or shouldn’t do. Then when I went to the delivery ward I saw midwife Poppy first who was the one to break my waters, she was so comforting even when I was having issues having the cannula put in and the nerves I had when there was talk of the hormone drip. Then after shift change I had Vicky overnight who to say is one of the loveliest people I have ever met would be a major under exaggeration. She was the one who monitored me overnight constantly due to being on hormone drip and having epidural, she did my checks so nicely so as to try and let me sleep as much as possible, answered any questions I had, comforted me when I was scared…I was gutted her shift finished when it did as my baby arrived literally 30 mins after🥺I don’t remember the name of the midwife who was there during my birth as I was so out of it at that point but again she was such a wonderful lady, she was a bit older and reminded me so much of my lovely Nan which was a major comfort for me. She was constantly reassuring me, telling me how well I was doing and explaining everything that was going on. Overall I had a wonderful birth, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our beautiful baby boy Austin was born 22.02.26 @ 7:42am 🩵thank you to all for such a wonderful experience, I am forever grateful to you all x"
Thank you to Jess for sharing her experience (and also sending a message via our 'Thank You' form!) 💙😍
