🎄 Festive Holiday Reminder – Prescriptions 🎄

With the Christmas and New Year bank holidays coming up, please take a moment to check your repeat medication.

If you’re due to run out of medication over the festive period, please order in advance so you’re not caught out. It’s a very busy time for both GP surgeries and pharmacies, so planning ahead really helps everyone.

📅 Surgery closures:
• Thursday 25th December – Christmas Day
• Friday 26th December – Boxing Day
• Thursday 1st January – New Year’s Day

Normally, repeat prescriptions are issued when you’re in your last 7 days of medication, but we’ve extended this window to help cover the bank holidays.

2️⃣ Call the Prescription Team
📞 Monday–Friday, 09:30–11:30, choose Option 2

3️⃣ Drop off your right-hand side prescription slip at the surgery

We are seeing an increase in flu-related symptoms, as are our colleagues in hospital. If you have received a text but haven’t yet booked your FREE flu vaccination, please call the team and we’ll get you booked in.

For mild symptoms, self-care with rest, fluids, and over-the-counter remedies is often enough. For suspected chest infections, you can attend your local pharmacy under the Common Ailment Scheme—pharmacies such as Hopwoods and Wellness have Independent Prescribers who can assess and prescribe antibiotics where appropriate.
