DURING OPEN STUDIO EVERYTHING IS FREE, EXCEPT THE TIME YOU SPEND HERE. YOU MAY DO AS YOU PLEASE: GRAB A MAT AND WORK ON YOUR FITNESS, BROWSE OUR BOOK SELECTION, MAKE NEW FRIENDS OVER A CUPPA, HOLD A MEETING OR DISCUSSION GROUP, CATCH UP ON STUDY, BE CREATIVE. Just been pondering on winter and how, as with all things, there’s never one way of seeing it.

Some see rest.
Some quiet focus.
Some reflection.
Some preparation.

At Stretchy’s this year has been root work.
Refining how we hold space.
Building strong foundations.

So when things bloom, they’re resilient.
Not rushed.
Not forced.
Rooted. 🤍

Snippet from today’s class.

We built towards chinstand with spinal extension in fish & locust, core work through roll-ups & boat, pressing strength in knees–chest–chin, planks & crow, back body support in tiger & warrior 3, then explored the transition in using blocks & through lizard, flying lizard.

There were always options to suit all bodies, with hands-on spotting offered for safety.

YTT group teaching postures.

Anyone who’s practiced yoga for time will know it goes far beyond the poses yet the poses remain a powerful tool.

Sometimes the body speaks first. Some thoughts & beliefs can be subtle. The postures can give us insight to these.

When we learn to listen (noticing quiet sensations, holding through the forearms in poses that don’t require it, & gentle shifts in emotion as discomfort surfaces, like a slight rise in heart rate) : awareness / understanding grows.

With it comes the ability to adapt, let go, breathe, and lift ourselves up. Not just in class but through life.
