🟣 Rubella: What You Need to Know 🟣

Rubella is a contagious viral infection that is often mild—but it can be extremely serious during pregnancy.

The short explainer uses the 4Ts framework to highlight the key facts:
✔️ Type – what rubella is and common symptoms, including mild fever, sore throat, swollen glands, and a rash that starts on the face
✔️ Transmission – how it spreads through coughs, sneezes, and close contact, often before symptoms appear
✔️ Threat – why rubella is dangerous in pregnancy, with risks such as miscarriage, stillbirth, and serious birth defects
✔️ Treatment & Prevention – why there’s no specific treatment and how the MMR vaccine provides the best protection

đź’‰ Vaccination is essential to protect individuals and prevent outbreaks.

Remembrance Day - Two Minute Silence

Today, we'll be joining people across the country to remember all those who have served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces.

As a Veteran Friendly Practice, we're especially proud to support and care for those who have served in the Armed Forces.

At 11:00am, our team will take part in the two-minute silence. During this time, our phones and reception will be paused as we reflect together.

Thank you for your understanding as we take this time to remember.

Fireworks and bonfires can make lung condition symptoms worse due to the smoke and pollutants they release.

This means that on and around Bonfire Night, you may be at risk of an asthma attack or a flare-up of your lung condition.

If you suffer with asthma or a lung condition like COPD, you can still enjoy Bonfire Night celebrations by:
➡️ Standing back from fireworks and bonfires or watching a display from indoors.
➡️ Always keeping your inhaler with you, so you can use it quickly if symptoms worsen.

Lower temperatures in the Winter months can worsen respiratory symptoms. If you suffer with a respiratory condition, visit our website to find out more about how you can protect yourself this Winter: https://orlo.uk/vNbLG
