⚠️ Meningitis B Vaccine Update ⚠️

We would like to inform our patients that we currently do not have availability of the Meningitis B vaccine. At present, available stock is being prioritised for specific groups in line with national guidance.

We understand there has been increased concern following recent cases in the UK and appreciate how important timely vaccination is. We are monitoring the situation closely and will share updates on our social media if availability changes.

Chickenpox vaccination.

The NHS has recently introduced a combined Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine into the childhood vaccination programme.

We are seeing increased interest from parents wanting to get their child vaccinated when they have fallen outside of the qualifying age or are older and have not had chickenpox infection.

🦠 It’s not too late to protect yourself against flu 🦠

If you haven’t had your flu vaccination yet, there’s still time! Getting vaccinated now provides crucial protection for the rest of the flu season and helps reduce the spread to vulnerable people around you.

Flu is more than just a bad cold. Symptoms can include:

Cyncoed Pharmacy has for a number of years offered a private Chicken Pox vaccine service.

Finally from today in the UK, children over 12 months will be given a chicken pox vaccine as part of the MMR vaccine NHS service.

There will be a catch up programme for children up to the age of 6.

If you have a child over 6 (who has not had chicken pox) you may wish to consider a private vaccination. This is also the case for parents with a child between 1 Year & 6 Years who don’t want to wait for ‘catch up’ which may be a number of years away.
