Today I am stretching my own introvert-inclined boundaries by going to British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Making Connections event in Cardiff. I encourage clients to do things to stretch their comfort zones so better walk the walk myself!! So far the talk on eating disorders has been informative and I’ve spoken with some other counsellors 🙂

I absolutely love this, and agree with it.

Wise words from reflecting on experiences.

Has anyone/thing inspired you recently? Inspiration can hit from the most unlikely sources!

How’s 2026 going?

Got anything planned? Or are things not going quite as planned?

I created some business cards ahead of the Making Connections event next month with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. This is one of my plans!

If you need support, message me to arrange a free initial assessment.

This festive time and the end of a year can bring up a lot for people.

Looking at this Christmas Blob Tree, which blob represents you? Which blob would you like to be? Do any blobs remind you of anyone?

Be kind to yourselves and each other - reach out if you need support.

As we head deeper into dark and cold days it is important to up the self care in order to beat any winter blues. This looks different for everyone, but here is a mood board of the little things that keep me going - baths, sweet treats, and nature in all it's phases. What helps you to get through the tough times?

Sharing this because we are all experiencing a lot right now - on top of what is going on for us personally, the world is feeling rather mad and this affects us all to some level. You are not alone if you are feeling confused, upset, numbed out, or unsure.

The world may feel a bit much right now, and that’s OK. 🌍

Talking to someone you trust — whether a friend, family member, or a professional counsellor can bring comfort and support when things feel heavy.

If you’re ready, our Counselling Directory can help you connect with a verified professional who understands. 💙

Mind, body, and soul.

These are all connected to make up wonderful, magical, multi-faceted you!

A holistic approach to counselling not only considers what you are thinking, but also what you are feeling emotionally, feeling physically, what you believe in, what ignites your passions, and what you long for and dream about.

Are you giving your mind, body, and soul enough attention? Is there a dominant part? Is a part feeling neglected? Does anything need addressing?

No right or wrong answers, just curiosity and the potential for things to feel and be better.

Want to know more about yourself? Want to understand why you might feel or act the way you do sometimes?

Counselling can be a safe space for self exploration.

A fun start can be finding out your personality type according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), which can be done using this website: https://www.16personalities.com/ Your result will explain your personality traits, career path, relationships, strengths and weaknesses.

I have found the result can change over time - my personality type used to be ENFJ-T (extraverted, intuitive, feeling, judging, turbulent), but in recent years has become INFJ-T (introverted, the rest are the same). This means I am more introverted than I used to be.

What's yours? Does it resonate, or do you disagree?

There is a lot of negativity in the world which we can absorb, and this can then become our own inner critic. Things we have been told by the media, our families, past teachers, and peers can stick and over time we can end up with a head full of negative thoughts.

While I am definitely not posi vibes only, if you feel the balance of positive and negative thoughts is off in your mind then some re-programming is required. This can be done through repeating positive affirmations to ourselves. I have listed my favourites here - do you have any you would like to share?

You can get your favourite printed off as a sticker to add to your mirror so you see it every time you look at yourself, or put it on the fridge, or use it as a bookmark.

There are also some beautiful affirmation playlists to be found on Spotify if you need to hear more good things spoken out loud.
