Here's a little more info so that you can get to know me a little better!
I've been an osteopath for 17 years now. After graduating from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in 2002 I started studying at a post graduate level with the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy (SCCO) to increase my knowledge and skills in the use of the very gentle Cranial Osteopathic techniques. I enrolled on the SCCO pathway because I found these techniques so subtle yet effective, and have just two of the 10 modules left to complete. The modules that I have already done include specialist Paediatric courses which consolidated the training and experience that I had gained working with a very experienced Osteopath at Albert Road Osteopaths in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
In 2008 I completed my Masters in Animal Manipulation (Osteopathic Pathway) (using Cranial and other osteopathic techniques) and began to treat horses and dogs alongside working in two busy human practices. The horses that I had at that time became experts in all aspects of osteopathic assessment and treatment as I honed my skills practicing on them! In 2013 I increased my knowledge of all things baby and children related by having my first son. He was followed in 2015 by a little brother. They have both enjoyed regular osteopathic treatment from a very early age (48 & 36 hours old!!) and I'm sure that it has helped them grow into the happy, funny and energetic young boys that they are today! There is no way that I could have learnt what I now know about feeding, sleep (or lack of it), prams and car seats without their help. They have certainly helped me understand what challenges parents of young children are facing!!
In 2017 we made the big decision to move from Staffordshire to West Wales to be closer to my parents, Ireland and the sea! We have settled well into life here, love having the beach on the doorstep and Iโm (slowly) trying to get a grasp of the Welsh language. Iโm now offering Osteopathic treatment in Tanygroes, Cardigan, and Haverfordwest.
