Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice provides care for adults in the local area and children across Cumbria with life limiting illnesses. The hospice has a 12 bed adult in-patient unit with eight single en-suite rooms and a four bed room. The home from home environment creates a relaxing atmosphere for patients and families with each room overlooking the recently transformed walled garden. The Day Hospice provides care for up to 15 people a day, four days a week. Most days the sweet smell of freshly baked cakes fills the Day Hospice as patients, nurses and volunteers exchange stories about what has happened since they last met. Jigsaw provides care and support for children and young adults from throughout Cumbria. Every day, Jigsaw is filled with laughter and enjoyment as children and young adults take part in a wide range of colourful, creative and sensory activities. The annual cost of providing our services is over £3million, with only 27% received from the NHS. The kindness and generosity of the local community raises over £2million each year through fundraising events, collection boxes, legacies and much more.

A special donation with local history... ✨
We're delighted to share that our Furniture Shop has received a very special item — the desk used by Andrew Jenkins, former Carlisle United Football Club chairman and co-owner, can you imagine the decisions that were made over this desk? This beautiful piece of furniture has been used for over 50 years, making it a unique part of our community's story.
Huge thanks to the Jenkins family and the team at Pioneer Foodservice for this generous donation. Acts like this remind us how powerful a legacy can continue helping others.
This is definitely a piece for local fans, collectors, and anyone who loves a piece with real heritage. The desk is live on our eBay page! Visit 👉 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/206046559757

Throughout December, our local community came together to remember loved ones and support Eden Valley Hospice, thanks to the wonderful team at Jill Glencross Independent Funeral Director.
Their Christmas Memorial Tree offered a beautiful way for people to honour someone special, and together an incredible £1,305.56 was raised!
We want to extend our deepest thanks to Jill Glencross for her support and kindness. Jill's dedication and generosity make such a meaningful difference, and we are grateful for everything she does. Your kindness funds help us continue providing compassionate care to local people during their most vulnerable moments.
"I never imagined myself taking on a skydive..." 🌟
Last year, our amazing receptionist Andrea stepped way outside her comfort zone and took the leap! Literally, 10,000ft up!
Andrea told us, "It was something completely out of my comfort zone, but that's exactly why I wanted to do it. It reminded me of just what we can achieve when we challenge ourselves. Knowing I was doing it to support the hospice made every moment even more meaningful. I did it, and I tell others that they can too!" 💙
If you've ever thought about doing something big, bold, and unforgettable... this is your time! Take on a skydive for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw and make a difference.
Every jump helps us be there for patients and families, offering support at some of the hardest moments in their lives.
