💙 Betsy did it! 💙 82 laps of Trinity school fields, surrounded by the support of her friends and peers who joined her for laps, helped raise money, and showed up to raise awareness.

Betsy raised over £7000 for Carlisle Eden Mind and Every Life Matters, the outcome of which will ripple through both organisations, and play a substantial part in supporting the local community. No amount of thanking will be enough, but from all of us at Carlisle Eden Mind, we send the biggest thank you to Betsy, Trinity School, and everyone who made this day so special.

Donations are still open for those who'd like to make one. You can find the link on our page, or copy and paste this: https://www.gofundme.com/f/thalia-morgan-su***de-awarness

💙 Tomorrow is the day Betsy will complete 82 laps of the Trinity School fields in honour of her late sister Thalia. 💙

Please read her story below:

"On February 13th 2026 my entire family's life was changed forever. My sister Thalia, 21, took her own life. After a long battle with her mental health, losing our dad, and more recently our brother to su***de, her pain and sadness became too heavy for her to carry.

I, along with the support of friends and family, will be completing 82 laps of trinity’s playing fields on the 30th April 2026. My sister attended trinity from 2015-2022 and spent 82 months as a student here.

Thalia made an impact on so many people’s life’s. She was a ray of sunshine, full of compassion. It was impossible not to laugh when she was around. Her smile could light up a room and she always put her friends and family first.

Su***de doesn’t just take one life — it sends shockwaves through families, friends, and entire communities. It leaves behind birthdays with empty chairs, late-night conversations that will never happen, and questions that don’t always have answers. For parents, siblings, and loved ones, the grief is heavy and complicated — filled with love, heartbreak, confusion, and longing all at once.
Friends lose the person who made them laugh, who showed up, who mattered. Communities lose a bright light, future dreams, and the impact that person would have made. The silence that often surrounds su***de can make that grief even lonelier.

Breaking the stigma is so important. We have to talk about mental health openly and without shame. We have to create spaces where people feel safe saying “I’m not okay.” Conversations can save lives. Compassion can save lives. Listening can save lives.

By honouring her memory and sharing her story, we are choosing love over silence. We are choosing awareness over stigma. And we are reminding others that they are not alone."

💙 Betsy is donating 50% of the money raised to Carlisle Eden Mind, and 50% of the money raised to Every Life Matters. If you're in a position to donate, every £1 is appreciated, but just reading Betsy's story has raised su***de awareness, so thank you. 💙

🚨 Betsy is just £175 away from her target of £4000! 🚨

Betsy is raising money for Carlisle Eden Mind and Every Life Matters in honour of her sister, Thalia, who sadly died by su***de. Betsy will be completing 82 laps of Trinity playing fields on April 30th to symbolise the 82 months Thalia spent as a student at Trinity School.

"By honouring her memory and sharing her story, we are choosing love over silence. We are choosing awareness over stigma. And we are reminding others that they are not alone."

The team at Carlisle Eden Mind are behind you all the way Betsy, you've got this! We all send a huge thank you for this incredible fundraiser.

🌸 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 🌸 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟑! 🌸
Coach Amy has been spending March enjoying the Action for Happiness Mindful March calendar. Below are some of the key days Amy has enjoyed, and how she chose to be mindful on them. Check out our page for part 1 and 2. We hope you had a Mindful March - let us know if you chose to follow the Action for Happiness calendar at all!

📅 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟒𝐭𝐡 - 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨
I was quite reluctant to pick this prompt as I thought that it would be a difficult one for me – that’s a whole mindful lesson in itself! However, I went to a pottery class and though, aha, perfect! It was a real challenge for me to quieten my perfectionism and just actually appreciate what my hands could make with the clay. The winning moment was when my hands weren’t caught up with my brain, I picked up the clay and it split and slopped on to the desk – brilliant. After a little giggle and some mild frustration I took this as a lesson to slooooow down and tune back into my hands!

📅 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟗𝐭𝐡 - 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞
I decided to go left instead of right on my dog walk and that in itself sprung me into mindful mode as it broke the predictability of my usual walk. I did notice that it was hard for me to tune into what was around me without thinking ‘where am I going?’ and thinking about the end destination. So, I decided to let the dogs take charge of the thinking and let them lead me! That really did help me to just notice what was around me instead of trying to work out which way I was going.

📅 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 - 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞
I feel like Mindful March has enabled me to do this so much. I am noticing the joy and happiness I feel when I notice the moon on a clear night, or friends laughing or putting my cozy socks on after being on my feet all day. It’s really helped me to concentrate less on the ‘big’ things that can overwhelm me and to notice the smaller things in amongst all this that give me joy.

🌸 𝐀 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐦𝐲 🌸
Thank you for sharing Mindful March with me. It has been a really useful experience for me to put the focus on a mindful moment every day.

It’s also been good for managing my perfectionism as I allowed myself to pick and choose the days rather than follow them to the letter. It was also useful for me to notice the prompts that I avoided too – some learning in there for me for my future mindfulness practice :D
