🌷✨ Easter Fun at Holmehurst! ✨🌷

Our residents have had a wonderful Easter period filled with creativity, laughter, and—of course—plenty of chocolate! 🍫🐣

Over the last few days, everyone has enjoyed painting beautiful Easter ornaments, each one crafted with care and bursting with colour.

These lovely creations are now proudly displayed around the home, bringing a festive touch to every corner. 🎨💛

A huge thank you to our fantastic residents for their enthusiasm and creativity—you’ve made Holmehurst feel extra special this Easter. 🌼

Wishing all our wonderful residents, families, friends, and community a joyful and peaceful Easter. 💛🐣

We’ve been celebrating with plenty of smiles — from colourful crafts and Easter bonnet creations to a special visit from the Easter Bunny (who brought a few treats, of course! 🐰🍫).

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing staff for making the day extra special, and to everyone who continues to support our lovely home.

🍀 St Patrick’s Day At Holmehurst Residential Care Home! 🍀

Our residents enjoyed a lovely celebration filled with Irish music, laughter, and creativity. 🎶💚

They spent the afternoon listening to traditional Irish tunes that had everyone smiling (and a few toes tapping!), followed by some St Patrick’s Day–themed arts and crafts. From shamrock decorations to bright green artwork, the residents had a wonderful time getting creative together. 🌈🍀

🕘 Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
📅 Schedule: Full time, every other weekend required

Holmehurst Residential Care Home is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Cook to join our warm, friendly team.

We provide high‑quality meals for vulnerable elderly residents, including those with diabetes, fortified diet needs, and other specialised dietary requirements.

👩‍🍳 About the Role
You will:

- Prepare nutritious, home‑cooked meals tailored to residents’ needs
- Plan menus that are varied, balanced, and follow dietary guidelines
- Ensure safe food handling and maintain excellent kitchen hygiene
- Work closely with care staff to support residents’ wellbeing

💙 What We’re Looking For

- Experience cooking in a care home, school, café, or similar environment.
- Understanding of dietary needs for elderly adults, including modified and fortified diets
- Knowledge of diabetic‑friendly meal preparation
- A caring, patient, and reliable approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team

Today we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Zoobiedoo’s Mobile Zoo to Holmehurst Residential Care Home! 🐾💛

Our residents had a fantastic time meeting, feeding, and even holding a variety of friendly animals.

There were lots of smiles, laughter, and wonderful moments of connection. 🐇🐢🦎

💜 Eating Disorder Awareness Week 2026 💜

This week at Holmehurst Residential Care Home, we’re joining people across the country in raising awareness for Eating Disorder Awareness Week.

Eating disorders can affect anyone — at any age — and we believe it’s important to continue the conversation, challenge stigma, and promote understanding within our community.

At Holmehurst, we focus on:
🌼 Kindness and dignity in care
🌼 Supporting residents with compassion and patience
🌼 Encouraging positive relationships with food, wellbeing, and self‑care
🌼 Creating a safe environment where concerns can be shared without judgment.
