Three fabulous Christmas craft fairs this week. Starting on Thursday for 5 days Lanercost Dacre Hall, with over 40 crafters displaying their makes. Also over the weekend, Netherby Hall Christmas craft fair, then why not pop down to the pub on Sunday evening for The Crown & Thistle, Rockcliffe Christmas shopping event. Get your present shopping sorted, especially if you’re looking for those unique gifts crafted with love. Hope to see you there.

So I have embraced the power of AI to create some settings for my candles. It’s scary how accurately the robot interpreted what was in my head. Featured here is my best-selling Christingle Candle. It’s orange, cinnamon and clove. Takes me back to my teaching days when my classes made Christingles. Imagine 30+ children armed with knives and apple corers! Not a bad spot for a day’s selling…

So I finally joined the dark side and have an online presence for my candles! I think I’ve spent so much time on screens during my education career it was a psychological block selling online… but…folks are loving the candles and want more, so I have joined Folksy. It’s like Etsy but for UK crafters and it seems a lovely platform to showcase all sorts of crafts. I’ve only put a few candles on there at the moment, but my full range will be available really soon. One of the loveliest things about making candles is the testing process which happens with every new batch, and when trying out new fragrances. Tonight’s is Beachcomber one of my new ones. A mix of the seaside, juniper and cedarwood.
