What a wonderful way to start our Christmas day festivities.
With 3rd Carrick Brass Band, who came and played Christmas carols for us all. We wrapped up well, and opened the windows so we could enjoy the magical sound of music as it filled the air. Bringing a wonderful Christmas atmosphere to our home.
Our lovely Claire from nursing especially enjoyed this. She had the biggest smile on her face as Mandy sat and listened to the music with her from her room.

A massive thankyou to Morris Cameron and 3rd carrick for facilitating this wonderful visit for our residents.🎄🎄🎺🎺🎶❤️

It's one more sleep to Christmas, 🌟🎄👼
and there was a real party atmosphere around our home.🎉🥳
Everyone was looking amazing. As our gentlemen enjoyed a visit to the barbers, 💇‍♂️while our ladies went to the posh ladies salon. 💇‍♀️💅
Everyone enjoyed a few bubbles ( non alcohol) and snacks, 🍾🥂as they chatted and sang a few Christmas songs. 🎵

Congratulations to Julie on winning the hamper that was kindly donated by the Telford family.
Not only did they donated this amazing Hamper, but they also arrived on Sunday, dressed as santas helpers and give out gifts to every resident on nursing floor.
The staff would like to thank them for their support over the last year 🎄🌟🎅🧑‍🎄

Our residents enjoyed decorating these delicious buns, ready for the tea trolley. For a delicious Christmas treat for all residents.
It was wonderful to hear Brenda share stories of her life as a domestic science teacher, and head of her department.
Brenda shared how she made wedding cakes for her own wedding, aswell as for her daughter, friends and family. 🧁🎄

We had a lovely relaxing morning on Saturday, when we sat down over a cup of tea and a bun. We wrote Christmas cards to each other. Then enjoyed walking around the home, hand delivering them. The delight on everyone's face was infectious from both those who received and those who give. It was a heartwarming morning, provoking many happy memories when we would have sat at home doing exactly this in the lead up to Christmas.

We enjoyed a wonderful Carol service, conducted for us by the Vineyard Church Carrickfergus.
Andrew led us in some favourite Christmas Carols. Afterwards Roy spoke about the the true meaning of Christmas.
We finished with a quiz and a few Christmas songs, while we shook our jingle bells which Babs had kindly donated to us.
Each resident was given a beautiful handmade gift of an angel. While the staff from 4 units were gifted a box of biscuits.
Maud enjoyed helping Mandy gave out the rest of the angels to residents who were unable to attend the service.
We are incredibly grateful for the time and dedication that Babs and the team from Vineyard church have sown into our home over the last year.🕊🎄🌟

Our favourite dog Eva came to visit yesterday. Dressed as a reindeer and her Christmas jumper on, she looked absolutely adorable.
She brought many joyful smiles to the faces of our residents and staff alike.
Eva is a gentle wee dog, and we have loved having her come visit us every month along with her owner Wendy.

We are so grateful to Wendy for her time and dedication to our residents at Carrickfergus Manor over the last year🦮🎄💕

We are delighted to inform you that local artist Wendy McClatchey. Has kindly donated a number of her 2026 watercolour calendars to Carrickfergus Manor.
Each painting has been lovingly and uniquely painted by Wendy. Bringing the images of local wildlife to life. Each calendar is printed on top quality paper.

Wendy has been a volunteer in Carrickfergus Manor for several years, bringing her therapy dog Eva in to visit our residents.
We feel privileged that she has offered us these amazing calenders. Which will be on sale from Monday 22nd of December. Selling at £10 each. We foresee these will sell very quickly so snap one up asap. All proceeds will go to residents comfort fund. 🦊🦔🐿
