For the last couple of months I have been helping the University of Central Lancashire's School of Paramedic Science to create some CPD materials around the topic of mental health for North West Ambulance Service.
Today we had a day of filming the expert panel discussions which will go with the animated scenario videos we have already created.
I am really looking forward to seeing the end result before they are put online for NWAS staff to learn from. ❤💚💛

Today is day and it is a day when I am very thankful that I know who I can talk to when I am struggling.
Over the last few months my physical health has deteriorated to the point where doctors are investigating possible heart issues.
This has had a knock on effect on my mental health too, so it is a good job that I have good people around me that I can talk to.
Many people aren't as fortunate as me as they don't know who they can turn to for some simple support in the form of a non-judgemental listening ear.
Please be that person and let those around you know that you are happy to listen when they need to talk. 💛💛💛

Last week was another busy week of face to face training at MHFA999 Ltd.
On Monday & Tuesday I delivered a 2 day MHFA course for the amazing people at Altum HR and their clients in Altrimcham in South Manchester, on Thursday I delivered a 1 day MHFA Champion course for the wonderful folks of the Gravesham Learning Partnership in Gravesend in Kent.
This week I am delivering the 2 day MHFA course online to people from a variety of backgrounds, and next week I will be delivering the 2 day course face to face in the Wirral for some more fantastic volunteers from Cereal Partners Worldwide (Nestlé & General Mills) UK.
No matter which sector your organisation sits in, and no matter the background of your individual staff members this training is invaluable.
If you would like to know how you and your organisation can get involved and benefit please do get in touch.
All our training is Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England approved and accredited.

MHFA999 is Manchester’s best (in our opinion) provider of high quality MHFA England accredited mental health first aid training. Our creator Andy Graham is a fully qualified and approved instructor of Mental Health First Aid, and is the only qualified active Armed Forces Mental Health First Aid Instructor in Greater Manchester.
MHFA999 is approved by MHFA England for mental health first aid training in the Adult 2 Day, Adult 1 Day, Adult 1/2 Day Awareness, Adult Refresher, Armed Forces 2 Day, and Higher Education 1 Day versions of the training.
Having served in the army and the fire & rescue service, our founder Andy has not only performed first aid and trauma care on real people in real emergency situations on countless occasions, he has also lived with mental health issues due to some of the traumatic incidents that he has attended.
Because of this he decided to use his extensive personal experiences to continue to help others since his retirement from the emergency services.
