In 2026, Mould Lab will donate £10 from every sale to one UK-registered charity — and YOU get to help us choose who we support.

We’re particularly keen to support charities helping people affected by:
🏠 unsafe or damp housing
🫁 poor indoor air quality or environmental health issues
👶 vulnerable children or families living or being schooled in unhealthy environments
💚 those who can’t afford the help or support they need

Building-related illness specialist Jeff Charlton (Building Forensics IAQ) has warned that the operational requirements of Awaab’s Law, while well-intentioned, may unintentionally increase health risks and liability exposure for landlords and housing providers.

Based on his evidential assessment, Charlton explains that the law’s requirement for a 24-hour hazard assessment risks forcing rapid environmental and health decisions without sufficient scientific or medical oversight.

His evidence highlights a critical concern: complex mould-related health and environmental judgements are at risk of being made by individuals who are not medically or scientifically qualified, increasing the likelihood of misclassification, unsafe outcomes, and ongoing exposure.

This assessment reinforces the need for robust evidence, appropriate expertise, and proper investigation, rather than rushed, surface-level responses.
