Emma A's Bumps, Babies & You

Being Pregnant is hard work. It can make you worry. You can feel anxious. Weird aches and pains have you googling. Is this normal? What would the birth be like? Would I be able to do it? What about the pain? The more I chatted to other Mums & Dads to be, the more I realised it wasn’t just me, it was all of us. Don’t get me wrong, I was lucky enough to enjoy my pregnancy, despite all the extra scans, and worry we had. I know some Mums who hated it. Who knew that all these crazy feelings were normal?

Then he arrived, and my world was tipped upside down. I spent the first few weeks in a state of shock. It was so hard. I mean, people said it would be, but this I was not expecting. I was so tired. I had no idea what I was doing. Everyone seemed to tell me that the right way was a different way to the last person. I felt pretty confused and a little more than frustrated at times. Oh and the googling, so many hours googling......

Then I found these classes. I found other Mums just like me. I found out I was actually pretty normal. I found a place to go every week that always made me feel better. Physically and mentally. I found support. I found friends. Most importantly for me, I found the new me, the me that was now also a Mum. A bit of the old me, mixed with this new person. It was the best thing I did.
