To the Castle Douglas community,
We would like to introduce ourselves; Stephen and Haroon, who are soon to become the new owners of Castle Chemist – a new local and Independent Community Pharmacy, right here in the heart of Castle Douglas - taking over from the current Boots Pharmacy at 97-101 King St.
We wanted to take this opportunity to provide some information about the transfer of ownership.
Firstly, both Haroon and I would like to thank the community for your very warm welcome which we have received so far! We are very grateful and promise in return to provide a great service tailored to the needs of the local population.
We have a provisional takeover date for Monday 27th of May, and all existing patients shall retain their prescriptions with us automatically, so there’s no need to do anything.
We also extend an invitation to anyone not currently registered with the Boots on King St to either speak to is in store or contact the surgery directly, as, having two pharmacists, we will have lots of capacity for new patients.
There are going to be brand new services and changes that we shall share here over the next few weeks, which we hope will greatly benefit the town. If there’s also anything you would like to see provided then feel free to message below. 👇
Being an independent pharmacy, we will be able to access many more wholesalers than current, therefore (barring a very few nationwide issues) stock availability or delays should be dramatically reduced.
Danielle, Tanya, Sophie, and John - the staff at King St are all hardworking, caring and dedicated. Along with Haroon and myself, they will be staying at King St and we will all start afresh as the Castle Chemist team - Haroon and I are absolutely delighted to work alongside a fantastic team which share our values.
Until takeover is finalised, the King Street staff (our soon to be Castle Chemist team!) are working extremely hard. We kindly ask everyone to bear with us until takeover; Danielle and the team will do their utmost best to help and assist you in any way they can.
I will also take this opportunity to say that Haroon and I will both be relocating to and living in Castle Douglas permanently. We are not a pharmacy chain - this is our one and only pharmacy and we can assure you that we shall give you all our full commitment and our undivided attention.
You can expect to see both myself and Haroon working in Castle Chemist whenever you come to visit us.
Castle Chemist will be a new, independent Castle Douglas business, and we hope that you will support us in this exciting new venture!
