Chelsea visited the Dumfries Macular Society Support Group today to deliver and set up organisers, Peter & Morag, with their brand new Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses 🤩

Peter chose the classic Wayfarer style with Polarised lenses. Morag also opted for the Wayfarer in a lovely dark blue with Sapphire Transitions lenses. The sun even came out to give them a proper test!

Chelsea spent a couple hours at the group connecting the Smart Glasses to Spotify, Facebook, WhatsApp and Hands-free calling. Morag & Peter were delighted and headed off for lunch to give them a go around the town.

Smart glasses have so many helpful features for those with sight impairment, using a built-in camera and Meta AI to audibly describe surroundings, read text, and identify objects in real-time. It's really lovely to see how they will make a difference in people's lives. We are excited to hear soon how Morag & Peter are finding their new tech 😎

The Macular Society Support Group meet every fourth Wednesday of the month at 11am in St Georges Hall, Dumfries.

👓✨ Empowering Vision Through Innovation ✨👓

Chelsea was delighted to attend the Macular Society's monthly group meeting in Dumfries and demonstrate the exciting potential of Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses for those living with eye conditions.

During the session, the group saw first-hand how these AI-powered smart glasses can support people living with visual impairment. From hands-free photo capture and voice-activated assistance to real-time information and environmental awareness, the technology offers practical tools to enhance confidence and independence in everyday life.

Members were able to try the glasses, ask questions, and discuss how wearable AI could complement existing low vision aids. They also enjoyed listening to music while still being aware of their surroundings with the open-ear built-in speakers. It was inspiring to see technology opening new possibilities and sparking meaningful conversations about accessibility and inclusion.

A huge thank you to Peter and Morag (pictured modelling Ray-Ban Meta Glasses!), and all the group members for inviting us along to demonstrate how innovation and eye care can work together to support those affected by visual impairment.

We had a brilliant time at Dalbeattie High School ‘s Careers Day today talking to the kids about the different career paths available in optics.

The kids had plenty of activities to try out and they were all fantastic at getting involved and asking questions! We hope we have inspired some of them to look into a career that they might not have considered before.

Thanks so much to the high school for inviting us along 🤓
