I am Lisa, founder of Heartsease Consultancy which is based in a private setting, in Toomebridge, Northern Ireland. I specialise in providing Emotional Health and Wellbeing services, such as Professional Counselling, training and consultancy. My professional experience includes working with those impacted by:

I strive to work therapeutically with clients of all ages from children, teenagers and adults to support them in developing awareness and strategies to:-
understand themselves, life patterns, emotions and find the source of emotional and behavioural challenges. I use a trauma informed and integrative style in therapy to include person-centred, CBT and psycho dynamic approaches, basing the intervention specifically to meet the unique need of clients. Everyone has the ability to live an authentic life, in which they can feel ‘peace of mind’ and reach their individual potential.

Such an honest, vulnerable and heartfelt post by Fearne Cotton highlighting the impact psychotherapy has had on her ability to heal younger parts of herself, soothe the wounded parts and build a stronger internal dialogue which prevents the seeking of validation in external ways… well done Fearne for posting such a powerful and authentic insight into the therapy experience… ❤️‍🩹 healing is a journey ❤️‍🩹

Jumping on the AI band wagon with this one but it brought up a lot.

I have done a lot of therapy over the years looking at how I can help heal younger parts of myself. I have imagined hugging a younger me often. I have welcomed her into my arms and asked her to help me take life less seriously, to look around in awe again, to dream big, to care less what others think in the most childlike way. I've also needed to soothe past versions of myself. The bits that got broken along the way. The parts that are still wounded and go on the defence.

It can feel awkward, self indulgent, maybe even cheesy to suggest looking after your inner child, but its also essential. We all need to go back and metaphorically give that part of ourselves a hug. We need to tell her/him its all going to be alright, and even in moments when its not, that you'll get through it.

I wouldn't warn her of what's to come. Some of it is too horrid, but some of it is utterly, mind blowing in the best possible way and I would want that to be a surprise for her.

Never abandon that part of yourself. She/he always needs you ❤️

Not ❌ those relationships in your life when you feel judged, manipulated, unable to trust, unsupported, criticised and when you feel like walking on eggshells so as not to ‘set the person off’ on a rant or another mood swing…..
Listen to your body reactions when around partners, family and friends and notice who are really your people 🫶🏻
