North Downs Hospital – Then and Now
North Downs Hospital is situated in Tupwood Lane, Caterham.
As well as seeing private patients, a proportion of our patients come to us via the NHS.
We see and treat many different specialities from Ophthalmology to Orthopaedics and most things in between!
We pride ourselves in providing excellent patient care, and this is reflected in the amazing feedback we receive from patients.
We were once described as a 5꙳ Hotel for people with broken bodies!

Nutrition plays a vital role in recovery. Our three chefs with a combined 50 years of service, ensure that we provide first class food. Our 5-star rating from the Food Standards Agency is a testament to their hard work and the importance we place on patient nutrition.
Our ongoing collaborations with East Surrey Hospital, our apprenticeship scheme producing ‘home grown’ nurses and our active involvement in fundraising and community support, such as partnering with local charities and clubs, showcase our deep-rooted community ties and commitment to social responsibility.

Our on-going sponsorship of a local Cricket Club has proved to be a huge and enjoyable success. Below is an email from Richard Feist, Chairman of the Merstham Cricket Club.
“I just wanted to say a massive thank you for your sponsorship of Merstham Cricket Club again this season.
It’s allowed us to continue to develop the club, with purchases of winter training, spare kit for all to allow them to play, development of state school competitions.
This year the club has 5 adult league teams, 2 friendly sides, walking cricket, disabled squad, 3 ladies’ teams, 23 junior sides including women’s too.
Along with allowing us to improve the club development on the field it also allows us to keep the grounds in great shape.
As well as this the talks you offer the club along with advice too it’s really appreciated by us all.
We hope to keep working together for as long as we can.”

Back in 2024, we celebrated our 50th Anniversary. And in 2026 we still remain dedicated to providing the highest quality of healthcare and continuously putting our patients first.
