Hello everyone. We've been busy squirrels lately doing lots of training, lots of therapy and lots of bid writing for Church Chats. However, we just wanted to pop in to say our trauma service Traumaticus has made it through to the finals of the case management awards 2024 in the category external service provider. To say we're delighted is a huge understatement!!! We've got our fingers crossed for a win but we've got some stiff competition. Let's see what September brings

Did you know that you can join our local lottery to support Church Chats? It is as simple as scanning the QR code. The service is totally dependent on funding to run and while we are squirreling away in the back ground to secure some more, anything the community can do to help is amazing!

Another fun two days training Goleudy staff in a solution focused approach. Most of them already use it without noticing because they do what works with their clients. Thank you to all the delegates for taking sort and providing lots of rich insight into their roles and tasks

🌈✨ This week, some of our team attended training sessions with the 'dynamic duo,' Steve and Laura from Working Conversations focusing on Solution-Focused Practice.

At Goleudy, we take pride in our commitment to working in a solution-focused way, it's at the core of what we do. Solution-focused practice concentrates on helping people move towards the future that they want and to learn what can be done differently by using their existing skills, strategies and ideas – rather than focusing on the problem.

What a year it has been for Working Conversations! In the first 4 months, we thought that WCG was going to come to an end. We had no money and no direction. The darkest times came in April with the new tax year.

However, we made a couple of big changes and really got our heads in the game and things began to move forward. Her are just some things we have achieved this year:

Traumaticus has gone from 26 referrals in 2022 to 83 referrals in 2023. We have built our database of therapists and have nearly 30 working on active cases with a further 25 ready to go if needed. It's income has increased 6 fold which allows us to do so much more in the community. Steve has been delivering webinars for case management companies and CMSUK to spread the word about SF in trauma therapy

WCG has had 181 new clients pass through it's doors this year and we have increased our capacity for pro bono and reduced cost clients. We have renewed our training contract with Goleudy and have committed to 4 training sessions per year. We have also trained food bank staff in having difficult conversations and have done some corporate training for manufacturing companies. We did some training for the Women's Organisation around mental health and we are also in talks to with the Trussell Trust to begin training their frontline staff in 2024.

We also launched Church Chats in August and the service has already helped 23 members of the Bebington community. We are continuing to work with Christ Church to see how we can expand in the New Year and we are also in touch with Transforming Lives Together to see if we can take on a new church in 2024 and how we can do this sustainably. Watch this Space! Considering there are only 2 of us working on this project, it has been a huge success.

WCG has gone from a 0 on the scale to heights uncharted and we can't wait to see what 2024 has in store for us. Thank you to everyone who has offered a kind word, has supported us or worked with us in 2023. We are ever so grateful for our network. Needless to say, we are 😂

Back in mental health week, we had a lovely article written by the diocese, discussing the importance of church chats and how helpful it has been to the community in the current climate of long waiting lists. Hopefully the initiative continues to grow in the New Year. Watch this space 🥰

Christ Church in Higher Bebington is helping people who are struggling with mental illness, to talk through their issues with professional therapists, who visit the church on a weekly basis. It's all part of a new venture called 'Church Chats'.

Wow! What a year! I for one am grateful to be hanging my hat up for a couple of weeks. I can't wait to see what 2024 has in store for WCG. 2023 has had it's ups and downs but we are definitely further up the scale than we were at the start of the year.

Still on our way home but what a wonderful couple of days training at Goleudy! We were blown away by the talent in the room, the experience and the eagerness to jump in and give solution focused practice a go. It made our job so much fun and easy. Thanks very much for the feedback, we can't wait for January 😊
