I make things slowly, by hand, the way they used to be made.
Bars of soap that gently cleanse without stripping the skin.
Nourishing creams made with oils and butters the skin recognises.
Healing balms for the little everyday things — dry hands, tired skin, winter lips.
But more than anything… I like to think I make little moments of care.
A warm bath after a long day.
A balm that soothes sore skin.
A cream that feels like a small act of kindness to yourself.
Simple ingredients.
Traditional methods.
A lot of love in every batch.
Sometimes I think of them as little hugs in a jar. ❤️
Thank you for supporting handmade.

Trial & Error for March meet the maker.
People often see the finished soap… but not the journey to get there.
Sometimes a recipe works perfectly on the first try.
And sometimes it takes five… ten… or more batches before it’s just right.
Soap can be surprisingly temperamental.
Oils behave differently, temperatures change, some essential oils accelerate the batter — and suddenly the batch has a mind of its own.
Even after 15 years of soap making, mistakes still happen.
But that’s part of the craft.
Every “failed” batch teaches you something new… and brings you one step closer to the final product.
Handmade is never perfect — and that’s exactly what makes it special. 🌿

Behind every bar of soap or jar of skincare there are hours — sometimes weeks — of work that people never see.
Formulating recipes.
Measuring oils and botanicals.
Mixing, pouring, waiting for the perfect trace.
Curing soaps for weeks so they’re gentle on the skin.
Handmade skincare is slow by nature… and that’s exactly how it should be.
There’s no factory line here — just small batches, real ingredients, and a lot of care in every step.
From selecting ingredients to cutting the final bars, everything is made by hand in my small workspace.
And honestly… I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Thank you for supporting handmade 💚

Catching up with March Meet the Maker.
Post 1: about me and my brand

Most people don’t realise that the way I live — and the way I create my products — started long before I ever had a business.
I grew up in the countryside in the north of Portugal, where growing food, raising animals, and foraging medicinal plants wasn’t a trend… it was simply life.
My grandparents and parents taught me things that many people today are trying to rediscover —
how to recognise healing plants,
how to make simple remedies,
and how to live closer to nature.
When I started making soaps and skincare, it wasn’t about starting a “brand”.
It was about bringing those traditions back into everyday life.
Everything I make is inspired by that philosophy:
🌿 simple ingredients
🌿 traditional methods
🌿 products that respect both skin and nature
No unnecessary ingredients.
No complicated routines.
Just the basics done well.
Because sometimes the best things are the things our grandparents already knew.
Thank you for being here and supporting a small handmade business 💚

🐣Easter eggs🐣

I know I shared on my stories that these didn’t quite saponify yet. But why waste so much filmed material? Right?

I shall report back on Monday 😊❤️

Lotions provide hydration through water content, while balms create a protective layer that helps the skin retain moisture.
Both have their place — but compromised or dry skin often benefits from protection as much as hydration.
Understanding the role of your products allows you to support your skin intentionally, rather than layering without purpose.
Sometimes, skin doesn’t need more hydration — it needs help keeping the hydration it already has.

Skin listens to stress signals.
When the nervous system is constantly activated, inflammation, flare-ups, and delayed healing often follow.
Supporting skin sometimes looks like slowing down, resting, breathing deeply, or stepping away from constant stimulation.
Skincare isn’t only topical — it’s physiological.
Gentle routines and nervous-system care often go hand in hand.

The skincare industry thrives on novelty — new launches, trending ingredients, constant change.
But skin doesn’t thrive on excitement. It thrives on stability.
Consistent routines allow the barrier to repair, inflammation to calm, and resilience to build over time.
Boring skincare isn’t ineffective — it’s often the most supportive.
If your routine feels repetitive, you’re probably doing something right.
I'll keep shouting to the winds:
YOU DO NOT NEED A 10/20 STEP SKINCARE ROUTINE.

This month isn’t about trying something new — it’s about staying consistent.
It’s easy to believe that progress comes from adding more: new products, new routines, new promises.
But skin often responds best to stability, not change.
Simple routines give the skin space to rebuild, strengthen its barrier, and find balance without constant disruption.
The quiet repetition — gentle cleansing, nourishment, hydration, rest — is where real progress happens.
If you’re part of this month’s reset, consider this your reminder:
Consistency is doing something simple, long enough for it to work.
Save this so you don’t overcomplicate your routine halfway through 🤍

Skin healing rarely happens overnight.
In a world of quick fixes and dramatic transformations, it’s easy to feel discouraged when progress feels slow.
But real healing is often quiet — happening beneath the surface before it becomes visible.
Consistency, patience, and gentle support give the skin the stability it needs to repair and rebuild.
Not dramatic routines. Not constant change. Just steady care over time.
If your skin feels like it’s taking longer than you’d hoped, you’re not failing — you’re in the process.
Save this for the days you need a reminder to stay consistent 🤍
