A "Hat-Trick" of Awards for Nimbus Disability + A Major Personal Win for Our Founder! 🏆🎩

What an incredible November it has been! We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Nimbus Disability has secured a "hat-trick" of prestigious national awards, culminating in a massive personal achievement for our Managing Director, Martin Austin MBE.

This month, our work in fostering systemic inclusion and "Tech for Good" was recognised at three major ceremonies:

The Cherry on Top 🍒 To round off an unforgettable month, Martin Austin MBE was named the Midlands Randal Foundation Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards

Our President Richard Whitehead, will be running the Robin Hood Marathon Events in Nottingham this Sunday 25th September, in preparation for the TCS London Marathon on 2nd October.

“Running the Robin Hood is great preparation for London because it’s not easy and it’s challenging, getting the miles in around the streets of Nottingham. I’ll also be promoting the Foundation and Footprints Conductive Education Centre, who I’m also the patron of. It’s really important to support local initiatives and thank all of the volunteers that will be on the course. I’ve done the Robin Hood event many times before and it’s great to give something back to the running community, that has enriched my life so much.”

Nimbus Disability awarded highest official UK award for British businesses

We're incredibly excited, delighted and proud to announce that we've officially been awarded a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category!

The Queens Award is the highest official UK award for British businesses.

On receiving the news of the award, our Managing Director, Martin Austin MBE, said:

“...The award is an overwhelmingly welcome signal of recognition but it is not by any means punctuation in our development.

“If anything, it’s a catalyst for all of those sitting on the fence of working with us to understand what we have to offer and take our work as seriously as we do..."

Disabled people in Derby to benefit directly from thousands raised by international Access Card

Nimbus Disability is very proud to be donating £60,000 to Disability Direct .

The money will go towards funding Disability Direct’s advice centre at Babington Lane.

Nimbus was set up by Disability Direct to focus on improving access for disabled people to entertainment venues.

As well as The Access Card, Nimbus also generates income from a range of services to help businesses improve their ability to meet disabled customers’ needs.

As part of its set-up, some of its profits are put back into Disability Direct which facilitates independent living opportunities for disabled people in Derby and beyond.
