Did you know that 84 million people in Europe live with Mental Health Disorders (MHDs), costing the economy over €600 billion each year? For adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the risk of developing MHDs is 3–6 times higher, often leading to a cycle that connects mental health with other Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) such as CVD, diabetes, cancer, and COPD.

The ETHEREAL Project is addressing this urgent challenge. By combining AI, data analytics, and system modelling, we are developing a Personal Digital Nurse (PDN) app, a personalised and flexible tool to help autistic adolescents manage environmental factors, access community support, and prevent their mental health from transitioning into serious disorders.
