It’s been a busy week in the world of acupuncture! First Acupuncture Awareness Week finished off nicely with World Acupuncture Day 2025 today! 🌍

Did you know:
🇨🇳 China has three primary kinds of hospitals: Chinese medicine hospitals, Western medicine hospitals and gynaecology, obstetrics and paediatric hospitals which combine the two systems. Beijing has around 200 Chinese medicine hospitals and large clinics.

🧑‍⚕️ Your GP can refer you for acupuncture, especially if it’s for chronic pain or headaches.

Another study proves the effectiveness of acupuncture in helping with chronic low back pain…

✨ New Cochrane Review Confirms Acupuncture Helps with Chronic Low Back Pain!

A newly published Cochrane review of reviews has examined non-drug and non-surgical treatments for low back pain. The results? Acupuncture effectively reduces pain and improves function for those with chronic low back pain! 🎯

🔸 Acupuncture is already integrated into mainstream healthcare in several countries:
✅ Statutory regulated in Australia, New Zealand, and Portugal
✅ Covered by healthcare insurance in Germany and New Zealand
✅ Recommended in clinical guidelines when seeking out a PSA registered practitioner (BAcC)

However the study highlights that many clinical trials underestimate the real benefits of acupuncture because they don’t reflect the personalised treatments given by traditional acupuncturists.

Research shows that acupuncture can offer significant help for those with endometriosis. Get in touch if you’d like help with managing this condition.

Following the publication of an update to the NICE guidelines for 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬, questions were raised in Parliament about the waiting times for treatment and diagnosis for this often debilitating condition.

We flag the 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 pointing to what accredited acupuncturists see in their clinical practise, that 𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬.

The British Acupuncture Council asks why, despite this evidence, acupuncture wasn't included in the NICE review? We also call for more funding for research into acupuncture for endometriosis so that people commissioning healthcare can have the evidence they need to be able to give patients access to the most effective treatments.

🌍Today is World Acupuncture Awareness Day!🌍

It is also the 14th anniversary of Acupuncture and Moxibustion being recognised by UNESCO as an "Intangible Cultural Treasure of Humanity"

So what better day to make you all aware of my acupuncture business and the wonderful world of acupuncture!☯️

I've been practicing in Chapel Allerton in Leeds for just over 2 years now (yes I have avoided social media until now but feel it's now time to embrace it!)
During this time I've had the privilege of helping many lovely people improve their health with acupuncture, whether it be help with pain, anxiety, stress, fertility, insomnia or just improve overall well-being, acupuncture can help in so many ways!
