CPD Day today!

I've had a really productive morning at Riverside well-being today.🙌

Being part of Riverside means being part of a strong community of professional counselling, practitioners, therapists, yoga and pilates teachers. 🔥

Each and every one of us support each other with a collective mission to help you to be the best version of yourself ❤️

Today's session involved using Lego as a way of expressing where our practise currently sits, any blockages that we have and a vision for where we might like it to go. 👀

I have been a bit at a bit of a crossroads recently and the session helped provide some clarity for myself.💎

Watch this space as things evolve, grow, branch out in different directions and cycle back to more familiar ones. 🌱

I LOVE Fridays.❤️

We meet in this lovely space in Chinley for relaxing, yet energising Yoga.🧘‍♂️

We have started the year taking a through the Chakras - today is the THROAT chakra, so we are exploring some gentle mat based back bends like BOW and FISH pose.

We're also working on some outer hip strengthening to support us when we come to balancing poses as we explore the third eye and crown over the coming weeks. ✨

This evening I'll be at the Slow Girls Walking Club - High Peak Edition offering a wellbeing talk and generally having a little social.

What Sally has done, putting this group together is phenomenal!

The group offers support by gentle exercise, an opportunity to brain dump if we've had a stressful day or are facing any challenges.

On top of that there's the book basket, worry jar and free period products.

Next week is looking busy for me.🔥

Monday, I am covering a slow flow yoga class tomorrow morning at 10am.🧘‍♂️

At lunchtime I'm holding a private chair exercise session where I'm working with an elderly gentleman to help improve his balance. 🪑

After lunch I'm in Whaley and Buxton offering massage and Reiki to two lovely individuals in their homes. 🫶

Home from a wonderful Therapy Retreat with this weekend.

Looking ahead to a busy week.

Today, I'm doing something that really counts - working at our family business and taking time to lead 1:1 chair based exercise with a couple in their home.

Investment of time with family is so important for me. We live work and grow together 🌱

And chair exercise is the foundation for supporting older people to stay fit, healthy and mobile. It raises confidence and ultimately prevents falls. 💥

If you are interested in chair exercise, I offer group sessions and 1:1 sessions. Please get in touch for more information.

This evening I'll be putting the finishing touches to the Reiki drum meditation on Wednesday. Using the Usui Holy Fire technique we'll be guided through a meditation using words and then you will take your own journey to the beat of the drum. Perfectly timed with the Capricorn new moon. ♑

In my happy place, at The Cattle Shed, Grindleford.🫶

This weekend I have been delivering retreat services including Massage , Reiki and Yoga and holding space for those who are here for the therapeutic services of .✨

It's been a privilege to be of service. This work literally makes my heart sing and my soul smile. 🎶

We have been wonderfully nourished by lovely chef Hayley. 🥗

My week ahead. ☀️

It was a slow start to January last week, with snow forcing classes to be cancelled. I took the time as a gift to rest, plan and be with family. ❤️

I'm intending an easeful week next week too.

I'd love for you to join in with any of the at home activities I have mentioned to support your personal self care routine. 🌱

I'd also love for you to join me on the mat on Thursday evening or Chinley Community centre on Friday morning. 🧘‍♂️

Today we welcomed Natasha from the Chakrashed into Haddon Hall Care Home, she took a our residents through a seated yoga session that everyone seemed to enjoy.

How many times do you start a task and swap to your phone?

How often do you take a walk, but find yourself heads down on a mission?

Does your mind often drift and you think 'how have my thoughts arrived here?'

Whatever you are doing - try to stay present.

Set a timer 60 seconds - be present with your breath, that flower, that meal you are eating.

Small changes in habit lead to great things and with practice, that 60 seconds will turn to 90 or even 5 minutes or more.

You don't need to go to classes for Yoga. Most Yoga happens off the mat in these small moments.

I have a gentle week planned this week, as routine makes it's way back after an elongated break over the festive period.

Today I'm working with and closing the day with a beautiful grounding online Nidra in which we will harness the moon's energy to release anything from 2025 that we no longer need, with love and gratitude.

We will also set some intentions for 2026 and root them in with some affirmations.

I'll be checking in over the week as I give myself permission to keep things slow.

I'll also be working through the mindfulness activities I've suggested each day this week.

I'd love for you to join me online for the Nidra this evening.
