Medway Shared Lives Enabling adults with additional support needs to enjoy an everyday family life by helping them to ga We need carers from all different circumstances.

We’re Shared Lives and we’re looking for caring people in Medway who can provide a home for a while to a vulnerable adult with a learning or physical disability, and give them the opportunity to be part of everyday family life and experiences to help them gain greater independence. Our successful
team provides a wide range of support, including: short or long term live in support; respite; kinship support and day support.

Shared Lives - because life is better when it’s shared....

Shared Lives is so much more than looking after someone. Shared Lives carers provide care and companionship for an adult with support needs. Shared Lives offers people the opportunity to spend time, or live with someone else as a family and enjoy the everyday things that most people take for granted, like just sitting having a chat or laughing at the telly, having some company, getting out and about. Things that may not be possible in a more structured care environment.

Although Shared Lives carers receive financial support for the work they do, the benefit of what they provide to the people in their care is so much more, as they provide opportunities for them to learn new skills, try new things, take part in activities, have a chance to make new friends and become part of a family.
