Michelle Cobb - Counsellor

Michelle Cobb - Counsellor A confidential space for support if you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or struggling to cope. Sometimes our past can influence our present life.

At times life can be challenging and stressful affecting our physical and mental health. Work, family, relationships, identity, culture, bereavement and loss can affect us. We can be left struggling to cope with daily life, feel alone and lost. Overwhelming emotions, numbness, feelings of insecurity or anxiety can exhaust us. Negative thoughts and behaviours, which are all too often repeated, leave us feeling trapped, isolated, lonely and with nowhere to turn.

You are not alone. Talking to someone outside of our circle of friends and family can often be beneficial. Helping us to see more clearly and find ways of coping. I provide a confidential space and a therapeutic relationship of warm non-judgemental respect. You can talk freely and openly and explore any difficulties or challenges you may be facing. Sometimes talking can be enough to find understanding and see things more clearly. I can support you to utilise your inner strengths and resources, to find solutions and make positive changes in your life.

Gratitude
Before you reach for your phone tomorrow morning, pause for a moment.
Notice three simple things you’re grateful for.
They don’t have to be big — a warm bed, a quiet cup of tea, the light through the window.
Gratitude gently shifts the mind from stress and racing thoughts into presence, contentment, and enough.
Small moment. Daily practice. Lasting calm. 🌿

Reaching out can feel like the hardest step — but you don’t have to carry everything on your own.

Anxiety often pulls our thoughts into the future —
What if…?
What might happen?
What could go wrong?

When this happens, the nervous system responds as if the threat is happening right now.

Grounding gently brings you back to the present moment — to what is actually here, what is real, what is safe in this space. By noticing what you can see, feel, and hear, you help your body settle and your mind slow down.

It’s a small shift, but it can make a meaningful difference.

If anxiety feels overwhelming, you don’t have to manage it alone.

At this time of year we often focus on caring for our bodies, but our mental health matters just as much.
Counselling can be a calm, supportive space to talk things through, ease pressure, and feel a little less alone with what you’re carrying.

Sometimes, simply being heard can make a difference.
