If you’re 18 or over and need urgent mental health support, dial 111 and select the option for mental health crisis.

Trained staff are on hand 24/7 to provide advice and support.

You may be advised to attend the new Mental Health Urgent Care Department at Basildon Hospital, an alternative to A&E designed for people experiencing a mental health crisis.

In a serious or life-threatening emergency, requiring mental or physical care, dial 999 immediately.

The Mental Health Urgent Care Department provides care, assessment and a calming safe space with access to mental health specialists. The service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The difference our nurses here at Whitley House make every day to our patients and the whole team is something we want to celebrate and appreciate!

Whatever the setting, wherever the location, whomever the patient, the one thing all nursing staff have in common, is their unwavering commitment to make a difference to people's lives. Not just to their patients, but to their patients’ families and loved ones too.

Three years on since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, you continue to work in extremely challenging circumstances. Yet despite this, your patients remain your priority. And for that, we want to thank you. Thank you to Liza, Sarah, Sandra, Chloe, Emma, Kim and Jo our amazing Whitley nursing team!

Some of you may have attended an out of hours appointment at the Hub at the North Chelmsford Health Centre in the past.
