Many of us may have never thought about the concept of Assertiveness before, especially not in the context of mental health. While we don't have much control over the choices and behaviours of other people, we usually have a certain amount of control over our own actions! Asserting ourselves and facing our issues head on can help us to regain and discover some of the self-esteem we may have lost. This can help us to tackle the major obsticals that are preventing us from finding happiness! 🙂

For the teachers and parents returning to work after a long summer, and for those of you that work through the whole year. Whether you work a 70 hour week or 3 hours a week, work related stress can effect any of us. Depending on who we work for, how much work is expected of you for how much you're paid, the type of job we do and the things going on for us outside of work we can all be affected by work related stress. I wanted to post a short introduction to myself for those of you who don't know me. I'm Kerry and I'm a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I initially studied with the CPCAB and completed my Post Graduate diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy with the University of East London. I have experience with adults and children and I have worked a lot with clients aged 14-20. I have worked with a variety of different mental health related issues including depression, anxiety, low self esteem, PTSD and many more. I am currently taking on new clients and I offer a calming and welcoming space for you to share your concerns without judgement.
