🧑‍🌾 Our Gardening Club was a fantastic afternoon full of creativity, laughter, and a little bit of mess! The session brought out the green-fingered residents, all eager to get their hands dirty and help prepare for the spring season 🌞

The colourfully decorated flower pots, lovingly designed by our wonderful residents, were brought into action as we filled them with soil, a messy but hugely enjoyable start. Residents carefully planted bulbs and seeds, ready for the beautiful spring flowers to bloom. 🌷💐

Using gardening tools with skill and control, everyone took pride in their work, nurturing both the plants and their own sense of accomplishment

Held right here in our home, the session gave residents the chance to enjoy the outdoors safely, bond with each other, and take part in a hands-on activity that celebrates nature and creativity. It was a wonderful reminder of the joy of growing things together, and we can’t wait to see the colourful results in the weeks to come! 🌸

Who doesn’t enjoy some warm fresh Bread pudding, made at our exclusive Baking Club 🥄 🍰

Recently during a yummy baking session here at Peverel Green Care Home, our lovely residents and staff made a delicious warm bread pudding from scratch.

Our residents began by tearing the bread to soak and soften it, this enabled them to enjoy the hands-on sensory experience from the mashing and mixing. Ingredients were added one by one, with everyone getting involved which encourages social interaction across the home!

While waiting for our delightful pudding, the group relaxed and winded down with a cuppa sharing favourite family recipes and fond memories, with lots of amusing stories along the way. The kitchen team then baked the finished pudding to perfection, ready to be enjoyed later in the day - a delicious result of teamwork, chatter, and fun. 🥖☕🍪

This fun and engaging baking session was a chance to bring residents together for a hands-on activity, that encourages social interaction, reminiscence, teamwork and sensory engagement- all while creating a comforting homemade treat to enjoy together. High five to the Peverel Green Baking Club! ✋💟

Something about the cold weather calls for a cosy and warm uplifting trip. So that can only mean one thing...

We recently visited the beautiful Olivers Nurseries . Our lovely ladies enjoyed browsing the goods including the gifts, wine, flowers, and plants.🌺 Our ladies were particularly excited about the welcoming of new products in the nursery and one of residents decided to upright camelias pots that had fallen over 🫣🤭no wages involved 😂😂

Our activities coordinator Jacqui joined the ladies around the nursery and assisted them all throughout. Big thanks to Jacqui for supporting the ladies and helping to make this outing even more special for our lovely ladies! 💟

This was all followed by very large portions at The Strawberry Tea Room, most being beaten by the quantity 🥪🥗. The Strawberry Tea room at Oliver Nurseries is an amazing family run restaurant and coffee shop. The room has a beautiful view over the pick your own fields and the plant area. Our lovely residents enjoyed the enchanted scenery along with the tasty lunch 😋

We had an amazing day filled with loads of memories and yummy food. We can't wait to return again and are already counting down the days!

Another lovely visit by Klauss from Essex Therapy Dogs
Our residents absolutely adore him and the special attention he gives to each and every one of them 🥰 He really is a gentle giant with the calmest nature, and it’s amazing to see the smiles, cuddles and conversations he brings out. Klauss has truly stolen all of our hearts ❤️

Enjoyed some puzzle 🧩 time with our lovely residents at Peverel Green Care Home

We had lots of concentration required to complete them but determination wins through 😊lots of chats fuelled by a cuppa tea☕️ and biscuits throughout helped 😊 🍪

This was a really lovely activity for our residents to participate in and there was a room full of smiles and laughter! 😆 💌

The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch proved a huge hit with our residents!🦉🐦🐦‍⬛

After placing our homemade birdfeeders in prime spots around the garden, we took our positions on both floors to start the vigil and identify the birds.

We spotted several feathered friends, with everyone excited to name them 🐦🐦‍⬛. Extra fun came from the cheeky squirrels feeding their bellies 🐿️. Despite the very wet and damp day 💦, it was a successful and joyful event!

Lots of bird 🐦 fun at Peverel Green Care Home! Our lovely residents got creative for our British 🇬🇧 Birdwatch activity 🦜🦅🦉.

The morning kicked off with making birdfeeders there was lots of sticky mess but so much fun 🤩 and fantastic results. In the afternoon, we learned about our British birds and enjoyed creating colourful artwork with some truly talented artists among us.

All of this was washed down with a cuppa and cake, leaving plenty of smiles and happiness throughout the day. 🍰 ☕

Lots of fun was had with our Italian themed day 🇮🇹!

Our lovely residents really enjoyed topping pizza’s, making mosaics, and completing puzzles of famous Italian landmarks.

We finished with a quiz on Italy, which proved very popular. This will become a regular activity as part of our 'Passport Around the World' theme days. 🍕 🇮🇹
