'Can I still attend my breast screening appointments if I have implants?'
Yes, you can have a mammogram if you have breast implants. However, it's important to inform the radiology staff that you have implants, as they may need to use specific techniques to ensure a thorough examination. In some cases, they might perform additional views to get a clear picture of the breast tissue. Regular mammograms are important for breast health, even with implants.
An inspirational few days in London at the annual British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons meeting. Itβs always a pleasure meeting senior surgeons that trained me, as well as younger surgeons I helped to train! Lots of great lectures with nice tips and tricks, as well as reassurance what my practice is up to date and contemporary. Canβt wait for BAAPS 2026!
