Conveniently located on the outskirts of Chelmsford, Springfield Hospital has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare for both private and NHS patients. We are a 64 bedded unit consisting of fifty eight private bedrooms and a high observation unit. Each private bedroom has its own en-suite facilities and a television with remote control. We provide meals via room service and can arrange catering for your relatives and friends upon request. Our consultants are subject to strict vetting procedures to ensure only those with the appropriate experience and qualifications are granted Practising Privileges. Springfield Hospital's parent company is Ramsay Health Care UK, an Australian company with a network of private hospitals and treatment centres across the country. Springfield Hospital is the largest Ramsay Hospital in the UK and is situated in a semi-rural location on the outskirts of Chelmsford, with attractive landscaped gardens and free parking. We are also accessible via train or bus service with Chelmsford train station being 10 minutes distance away by car and bus routes stopping directly outside of the hospital. Over the years Springfield Hospital has striven to provide a first class environment and service through a programme of continued development of our staff, the facilities and investment. As a result, we are able to provide an excellent facility, with experienced, highly skilled staff. The hospital also provides access to advanced medical technology to ensure a safe and a comfortable patient experience. The ‘NJR Quality Data Provider’ certificate scheme was introduced to offer hospitals a blueprint for reaching high quality standards relating to patient safety and to reward those who have met the registry’s high targets in the achievement of the quality of the data collected. We were awarded “JAG” accreditation in 2023. This accreditation verifies that the endoscopy service at Springfield are meeting rigorous, high quality standards which are used across the UK and Republic of Ireland to support improvement in clinical care and the patient experience. This means that patients can feel confident in their endoscopy service and be assured of receiving high quality consistent care. At the end of 2012 we ranked 1st on an external and independent Private Healthcare website earning us the title of "Patient Choice 2012".

🩺 This week, we’re proud to introduce Mr Saket Tibrewal, one of our expert Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons here at Springfield Hospital.

Mr Saket Tibrewal is a highly experienced Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises exclusively in knee and sports surgery. He is triple fellowship-trained at international centres of excellence (Sydney, Melbourne & Oxford) and has a busy practice covering all aspects of knee surgery, which includes partial and total knee replacement, arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, knee ligament reconstruction, cartilage regeneration and biological (non-surgical) treatment options for knee pain.

We’re proud to share that our Head of Operations, Martin Jubb, is taking part in Movember – the annual campaign where moustaches become more than just a style statement - to raise funds for The Movember Foundation.

The Movember Foundation is a charity that raises awareness and funds for men's health issues by encouraging participants to grow moustaches during November. The campaign focuses on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and su***de prevention, funding projects in these areas and promoting conversation about men's health.

Men’s health is often overlooked, and Movember shines a light on the importance of early detection, open conversations, and breaking down stigmas. Every donation helps fund life-changing research, support services, and initiatives that make a real difference.

🩺 This week, we’re proud to introduce Steven Kane, one of our dedicated Cardiac Physiologists here at Springfield Hospital.

Cardiac physiologists play a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring heart conditions using advanced equipment and techniques. From echocardiograms to pacemaker checks, their expertise helps ensure patients receive accurate assessments and timely care.

Steven graduated in clinical physiology with cardiology specialism from
Middlesex university in 2011. He undertook his training whilst employed at Mid Essex Hospitals NHS trust in Chelmsford before working at the Heart hospital and London Chest hospital in London.
Since 2015 he has been working as a senior Chief Cardiac Physiologist running the Echocardiography service at Mid Essex Hospitals NHS trust.

We’re thrilled to have Steve’s expertise and leadership on board—his passion for cardiac care makes a real difference every day.
