I am an integrative Counsellor who offers both short term and long term work to individuals. My aim is to enable individuals to grow in themselves in a safe, accepting environment for clients to explore their difficulties. Counselling helps individuals to explore their feelings and emotions affecting them in the present or from their past. As a integrative counsellor I can work in the here or now or work with conflicts from the past. The help that I offer ranges from short-term counselling, focused on a specific problem such as a major life change or bereavement, to open-ended therapy which is a deeper personal exploration. My aim is to work with people to understand their anxieties so that they can come to know and accept themselves, and to find their own meanings and ways through their questions and difficulties. It’s not the Trauma, life event/situation that’s the real problem because we tend to handle this in the moments, it’s what we make up about ourselves after that can be the real Issue . This can become part of our identity and we tend to feel lost, trapped , powerless, weak etc. Counselling can help individuals understand these beliefs to be able to let go of the ones that have not been working for them and allow their true identity to be present. Counselling sessions will be confidential and focused on individual needs.
