Just Because It’s Trending…🐄
Here’s the thing:Tallow balms are very basic formulas — usually just whipped animal fat + an essential oil (to mask the smell 🤢).
Nothing wrong with that… but at £30–£36, it’s a high price for something so simple.
My biggest concern?
It’s not ideal for anyone with:
• people with dermatitis or eczema• rosacea• reactive skin• breakout-prone skin
Tallow is heavy + occlusive, and in studio I’ve never seen it improve these conditions — often the opposite.
For sensitive or rosacea-prone skin, the essential oils can also cause irritation.
And because tallow contains no water, it can’t hydrate — every client I’ve seen using it had dehydrated, tight skin underneath.
If your skin is generally normal, no big concerns, not acne-prone — it’s usually fine to use… just don’t expect real corrective results from such a simple formula.
