Beer Festival, Website Feedback & Samaritans

Hey everyone!

I’m Ben, a local integrative counsellor (and proud sponsor of the upcoming Cheltenham Samaritans Beer Festival). I’m reaching out for a little community help:

I’d love your honest feedback on my therapy website—and as a thank you, you’ll be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to the beer festival I’m sponsoring! Just fill out a quick survey after visiting my site (link below).

Why am I doing this? - I want my website to be genuinely welcoming and easy to use for anyone seeking support—mental health matters, and so does first impressions. - I’m not an IT expert or web designer (I promise I won’t hold negative feedback against you—my clients say I’m a decent counsellor, but I know my limits!). - Plus, it’s a great way to highlight the brilliant work Samaritans do in our community—raising funds and awareness for mental health support.

FAQ

Q: Isn’t alcohol a depressant? Should a counsellor sponsor a beer festival?

A: Great question—yes, alcohol is a depressant, and for some people it can contribute to low mood or addiction. As a counsellor, I always encourage moderation and self-awareness. For many, though, events like these are about community, connection, and supporting causes like Samaritans. My aim is to help people access support—whether that’s through raising funds, open conversations, or therapy for those who need it.

Q: What does Samaritans actually do?

A: Samaritans provides 24/7 emotional support for anyone who’s struggling to cope, including those at risk of su***de. They’re a lifeline for many, and every penny from the festival helps them keep their services running.

Q: Is this just a sneaky way to advertise your business?

A: I am a local counsellor, so yes, there’s a bit of business awareness here—but mostly, I want to make sure people who need support can find it easily. Honest feedback helps me help others.

Q: How do I enter the ticket draw?

A: Just visit https://www.therapy-with-ben.co.uk, fill out the feedback survey below, and you’re in the draw! (Winner picked at random—no pressure, no sales pitch, just gratitude. - just forward me your answers and name for the draw, I won't be keeping your details other than for competition)

Website Feedback:

What was your first impression of the website?

Is it clear what services I offer? (Yes/No/Not sure)

Did you feel comfortable or reassured by the site? (Why/why not?)

Was it easy to find information or book a session?

Anything confusing, missing, or off-putting?

Any suggestions for improvement (big or small)?

Would you recommend the site to a friend looking for support? (Yes/No/Maybe)

Anything else you’d like to share? (Optional)

Name/email for the ticket draw (optional, only used for the prize)

Thanks again for supporting local mental health and the Samaritans!

Ever wondered if therapy could feel more natural?

Imagine talking things through while strolling under beautiful trees in Cheltenham(and watching them come back to life as Spring appears). Sometimes, a gentle walk in the park can make tough conversations feel lighter, especially with someone who gets it. No staring across a desk. Just two people, side by side, moving at your pace.

Confidentiality always comes first. We pause if needed and pick quiet paths, so you can feel comfortable sharing whatever’s on your mind.

Curious about how walk and talk therapy could work for you? Drop me a message or visit therapy-with-ben.co.uk to find out more.

See you in the park. ✌️

Today’s a big step for Chaos Couture—just picked up this absolute beast of a screen print carousel, which means I can finally get super accurate with my custom designs. If you’ve been following along, you’ll know I’ve been teasing the launch for a while, so here’s a proper update:

I’ve been busy collecting a ton of vintage t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies; everything from classic music tees to rare finds. Some get the acid wash or dye treatment, others are reworked with patches, badges, and my own designs, often combining old graphics with new ideas to create something totally unique. If you’ve seen any sneak peeks before, you’ll know that I have had kind feedback and picked up some tips -every piece is a one-off.

Earlier in the year I picked up a load of large screen print screens and have been doing some unique designs.

The Chaos Couture vibe? Think vintage meets DIY rebellion: holes, hanging threads, bold hand-stitching, splashes of unexpected colour, and all the character you’d expect from someone inspired by punk, rave culture, festivals, and high fashion. Some pieces will be pure Chaos Couture, others might just be killer vintage with subtle Chaos Couture branding.

First drops are coming late January. Each item is upcycled and tells its own story, sometimes with a band tee patch, sometimes with a wild repair, always with attitude. No official collabs, just honest reimagining of vintage for a new era. Not for everyone, but that’s exactly the point.

Added bonus, it's saving the never ending amount of items going to landfill and something of a push back against fast disposable fashion - this is designed to be stuff you keep lovely, repair and cherish as it ages further, giving even more unique character.

Stay tuned for sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes, and the first releases soon. And if you want therapy updates, check out the new Therapy-with-Ben channel (QR code in stories).

Hi All,

As most of you on this page will personally know me, you will probably know that I finish working for my corporate employer next month (currently 3 days a week) and go full-time as a counsellor.

So, I will have my own offices centrally, you will see me doing some promos around that soon. Behind the scenes I have been working on my website.

If anyone has a chance to have a look and pass me any comments, then it would be helpful - I mean, it is definitely a busy website (quite like my mind) but it has plenty of information and hopefully largely looks quite appealing.

As I say, if you get a chance have a look, and if you have a website that you want someone to have a look at and make any suggestions then I can return the favour.

Many thanks, Ben

Therapy isn’t just for one type of person—it’s for anyone who wants a space to talk things through, whether you’re facing relationship worries, family challenges, or just feeling a bit lost. Sometimes, having a counsellor with a different perspective can help you see things in new ways—no matter your background or what’s on your mind.

My approach is open and welcoming, especially for anyone who’s never tried therapy before. You’ll find a safe, warm space here—whether you want to talk about life, work, or anything in between.

Curious about how it works? Message me for a chat, no pressure.

Take care,
Ben

Remixing brilliant reel on why raves can feel like home for some neurodivergent people. As a therapist and lifelong raver (with ADHD myself), this really resonated with me.

There’s something about the energy at raves—the music, the lights, the freedom to move how you want—that can be so liberating. For many neurodivergent folks, these spaces offer a rare chance to just be, without the pressure of small talk or fitting into the “norm.” The predictability of the beat, the immersive sensory experience, and the sense of community can be comforting and even regulating.

Of course, not every ND person loves high-sensory environments—sometimes it’s all a bit much. But for those of us who crave that stimulation, raves can feel like a safe place to truly express ourselves.

I’ve always found that my background as a raver helps me connect with clients who might not feel at home in more “mainstream” settings. If you’re neurodivergent and looking for someone who gets it, you’re not alone. There’s no one “right” way to be ND, and there’s no one “right” way to find your joy.

Big thanks to for the inspiration—love seeing more conversations like this in our community.

Therapy that fits your real-life schedule.

Ever felt like getting support means rearranging your whole week? I get it. That’s why I offer sessions as early as 8am, or as late as 8:30pm—so you can talk things through before work, after dinner, or whenever life actually gives you a minute.

Whether you’re an early riser, a night owl, or just plain busy, there’s space here for you. No extra cost for those early or late slots—just a calm, welcoming room (or a walk in the park) when you need it most.

Curious if this could work for you? Drop me a message or book directly on my website.

Take care,
Ben ✌️

Ever wondered if therapy could feel lighter?

Imagine stepping out of the office and into Cheltenham’s golden parks—just you, me, and the sound of leaves underfoot. Sometimes, walking side by side makes tough conversations a little easier. Nature has a way of helping us breathe, reflect, and find calm, even on the hard days.

If you’re curious about walk and talk therapy, or just want a chat about how it works, drop me a message. It’s flexible, person-centred support—your pace, your way.

Take care,
Ben ✌️

Ever wondered if therapy could feel lighter?

Imagine talking things through while strolling under golden autumn leaves, instead of sitting across a desk. Walk and talk therapy lets you move at your own pace, breathe in Cheltenham’s fresh air, and share what’s on your mind—all with the same care and confidentiality you’d expect indoors.

It’s comfortable, flexible, and sometimes just feels easier.

Curious how it might work for you? Drop me a message or visit the website to find out more about walk and talk sessions in Cheltenham’s parks.

Take care,
Ben ✌️

I have a lot of respect for Gabor Mate and his very compassionate approach to psychology and counselling. I mean, him and Carl Rogers are my biggest influence.

Anyway, the video discusses a fascinating topic and as someone who practices using a mixture of Person Centred and Psychodynamic approaches, to me , it is very clear that we have learnt to become the person we are based on our experience so far.

Often the process of counselling just helps us to understand what is our stuff and what is learnt behaviour, the difficult bit being learning to trust in our own instincts about what is right or wrong.

Anyway, I liked so I shared.

Have a lovely weekend, Ben
