People often say their back pain is “just muscular.” But muscles are frequently the messengers and not the problem.
When the spine isn’t moving properly, the muscles around it tighten to protect it. This tension can ache, feel sore or create spasms — so it’s easy to assume that the muscles are the issue. In reality, they may be working overtime to stabilise a restricted joint and can become strained.
You can stretch or massage the muscles for temporary relief…but if the joint dysfunction underneath isn’t addressed, the pain will often return.
➡️Muscles don’t usually create the problem — they respond to it
➡️It is still helpful to massage the overlying muscles to relieve pain and tension
➡️For longer lasting relief have your spinal joints checked by a chiropractor
🎯We can identify the real cause of your back or neck problem, and help you get out of pain!
