We really need your help!!! We know Dementia Action Week 2026 is not until May next year, but we have just started planning, and would like some suggestions as to what our Theme or Topic should be this time.

If you have any ideas, please comment below, and they will be taken to our next meeting in January 2026, where themes will be picked and finalised!

⭐ Wednesday wisdom ⭐

When we communicate, as little as 7% of communication is made of words alone. Tone of voice is approximately 38% and body language is a huge 55%.

So why is this important to consider?

The non linguistics of communication can be preserved for much longer that words alone. Someone may not be able to understand what is being said to them but can still pick up on the tone of voice or the body language. They may be able to understand the kindness in your voice and body language, or any frustrations you may have. This is important to reflect on because when someone may not be able to understand what is being said to them and they rely on the non verbal side of communication, if they perceive what is being said to them as being hostile then their communication back is likely to match what they perceive to have received.
This is something we explore in much more depth in our information sessions. If you would like to learn more please do contact us to discuss our upcoming dates for our information sessions.
