We're sad to announce that the Social Prescribing walking group has come to an end!

Although regularly attending patients may still enjoy meeting, it will no longer be formally led by the Social Prescribing team.

Thank you all for being great participants! Keep finding ways to stay active and spend time outdoors. 💪🏃‍➡️

We will be running a GlosDigi Hub at the surgery on Thursday 15th January

At a Digi-Hub, you could get hands-on help and 1:1 tech support with:
⚡️ registering for the NHS app for the first time
⚡️ getting proxy access to the app for a relative or carer
⚡️ quick and convenient access to test results and hospital referrals on your smartphone/tablet
⚡️ viewing and ordering repeat prescriptions

If you or anyone you live with could benefit from gaining more confidence in using their devices, please ask them to come and visit us at Overton Park Surgery on Thursday 15th January anytime from 10am - 12pm.

MMRV is now part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme, replacing the MMR vaccine.

It protects against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox.

Chickenpox is very common and can sometimes lead to serious complications, so vaccination helps reduce the risk of serious illness as children grow.

You don’t need to do anything — your GP will be in touch when your child is due.

Stay well this winter and help stop the spread😷🦠

📌Take common sense steps to reduce the spread of flu and other similar illnesses by exercising good respiratory and hand hygiene and staying away from others if you have symptoms.

📌Self-care is often the best choice to treat minor illnesses. Pharmacists are qualified to give advice about different health matters, including minor illnesses, so consider speaking to a pharmacist before going to your GP.

📌And if eligible get your flu vaccine, COVID-19 vaccine and RSV vaccine.

Feeling under the weather? Home is the best place for you if you are experiencing seasonal illness like cold or flu. Stay in the warm and rest until you feel better. Avoid going out and spreading germs to those who might be vulnerable.

🌡❄️A cold snap is forecast for the next few days and nights. Temperatures could get as low as -3C at night. If you know someone who finds it difficult to look after themselves in cold weather, check in on them and make sure any rooms they are using are heated to at least 18C.

🧼 Handwashing is the best defence against seasonal illnesses like colds, flu, COVID and norovirus (sometimes called winter vomiting bug). Don't rely on alcohol-based hand gels because they don't kill norovirus 🦠
