Hope you had a wonderful Easter bank holiday weekend! 🐣☺️

I was in Torbay for our annual family triathlon with Gaz & the boys and we spent time cycling along the river Exe which took me through some beautiful English countryside and me and my son spotted some local wildlife. This is an activity to be cherished right? 🏊‍♀️🏃‍♂️🚴

Starting this Saturday …
Zigs Exercise is proud to be supporting the CPRE with their Centenary Auction, celebrating 100 years of the charity and their work! 💚

This is a special online event to raise vital funds needed to continue protecting our wonderful countryside.

As part of a Sustainability Grant from CheltenhamZero ⁠​⁠​⁠we are now able to be more environmentally conscious with our energy consumption and production 🔋

They are able to offer so much great support for local businesses in Cheltenham and helping them take steps to make us a Net Zero Town ♻️💚

I made my first beetroot latte this week 🫜🥤

“BEING BUSY” THE BIGGEST EXERCISE EXCUSE I HEAR…

I hear so many people say they are too busy to exercise but to me the benefits are too good to miss out on so here is what you could do if you know you’re using your time as an excuse…

1) Remind yourself that making time for yourself to exercise is one of the best self-care practises you could have which also allows us to be our best selves for others.
2) Focus on your why – write out and journal the excuses and come up with a bigger list of your reasons why – it amazes me how long that positive list can be! Read the list daily.
3) Schedule workouts as high priority meetings in your diary that are non-negotiable and get support with outsourcing other tasks.
4) Commit to accountability with another human being who recognises the excuses and won’t shame you but will hear you and encourage you to care for yourself.
5) Remove your own obstacles 1 by 1, like leaving the car at home and taking active transport, having your gym kit ready the day before or create a home box of workout kit if you’re logging in for virtual workouts.
6) Be compassionate and not a perfectionist – everyone misses a workout sometimes and even if you show up 70% of the time recognise that’s a helpful habit commitment worth recognising.

Over the weekend I was studying more for my Pilates Reformer Instructors Course, so I’m looking forward to bringing some of this training to Zigs members over the summer! ☀️😌

Today we had our RE:GEN bike delivered for the Zigs studio, thanks to Energym 💚

They make bikes that generate power, helping businesses and gyms be more sustainable!
