My intuitively selected crystal accomplice for this full moon is Sunset Sodalite.

With Sunset Sodalites’ tetragonal structure, it mirrors the Sagittarius spontaneity and brings out the inner rebel and supports us in stepping out of our comfort zone.

This is a natural rock that combines sodalite and orange feldspar (commercially called sunstone). It has an overall uplifting effect on our mind. It encourages honesty, mental clarity and boosts optimism and self esteem. It is considered by many authors to stimulate the brow chakra and throat chakra helping us to speak up about our concerns and needs.

It prompts deep thoughts about one’s place in life and in the universe and erouses the solar plexus that boosts our belief in ourselves and our sacral chakra, spurring our need for freedom, awareness, creative expression and to explore choices.

This ‘rock’ also serves as a mirror to our deepest dreams as it was initially viewed as low quality waste from an open pit mine in Namibia that was for mining Sodalite. Basically, the presence of orange feldspar wasn’t valued until it was recognised as valuable. Are you ready to recognise your values and value you. Overall, I feel it helps us to find the clarity to move forward at this time.

New Moon in Scorpio Crystal Ally – Black Moonstone

I have chosen Black Moonstone to work with this New Moon in Scorpio. Most varieties of moonstone are linked with the element of water and of course with the cycles of the moon – think tides and cycles!

Moonstone is commonly known for balancing the emotions which is great and very helpful but, it’s often that people forget that the emotions are messengers between the body, mind and soul. They offer us the opportunity to explore their purpose which can be to identify their cause.

What I love most about Black Moonstone is its womb like energy that helps us to feel safe in gently exploring uncomfortable feelings.
It is a stone that can support transition towards a new beginning and may be useful for developing self-awareness by working with it during meditation and journaling. Unlike some of the other moonstones it can also be helpful for grounding.

As a Feldspar and Silicate, it forms in tetrahedra containing 1 atom of silicon at its centre and 4 atoms of oxygen. As Black Moonstone is a Monoclinic system its formation, it brings emotional flow and intuitive integration. Monoclinic crystals are those that have the inner shape of a parallelogram. They are slightly asymmetric structure mirrors the human emotional landscape, helping us soften, feel, release, and realign with our deeper truth.

The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Black Moon Lilith will all be in Scorpio at the same time our New Moon is rebirthed at 6:45am GMT on 20th November. It is inviting us to find important answers and transform on the deepest levels possible.

The Scorpion new moon is also part of a grand trine with Jupiter (in Cancer) and Saturn (Pisces) and you will note that Scorpio, Cancer and Pisces are all water signs. Emotional sensitivity is heightened and rather than acting defensively or perhaps attacking, it could be it is asking us to dive deeper into our feelings and past to see if we can do things a little differently. Can we be kind and compassionate instead?

With the new moon in opposition to Uranus (in Ta**us) it could suggest we are more jangled and we must also anticipate the lightning bolt of sudden surprises. That said, it doesn’t have to be a bad surprise, although from a higher perspective – challenges and change is what encourages us to dig deep for inner wisdom and strength and to conquer our fears.

With this new moon cycle starting in water everything can feel out of control as there is just so much going on. You must remember that water needs a container or a flow and so rather than be pushed around with the erratic emotions of others (and the global stage) you might choose to find a focus. You could for instance focus on getting some of the jobs on the to-do list done, especially helpful during a Mercury retrograde.

And… don’t forget with water - you can intentionally invite the purifying properties of element of water to cleanse and nurture your energy field. With a new moon in Scorpio, you can request it this goes to the deepest and hidden depths of your psyche.

This is a real favourite stone for me as it is great to take out with you in nature especially if you like to commune with the elementals and the nature spirits. I also find it a trusty companion when visiting standing stones and old sacred sites.

Fairy Stone is also known as Fairy Cross due to its cruciform habit that is usually at a 60 or 90 degree angle. This is an earthy crystal but invites some lightness into to the heart and is composed primarily of aluminum, zinc, magnesium and iron.

Many authors suggest it is helpful for quitting smoking and easing depression but personally I feel it helps us to see the magical in the mundane reminding us that behind everything lies a supportive guiding force.

It is commonly found in the USA, Brazil, Australia, Russia, and Switzerland and exhibits brownish black, dark brown, and red brown colours.

Its name is derived from the Greek word ‘stauros’, meaning ‘cross’.

Storytelling tells of the fairies crying over finding out about the death of Jesus. It is said that their tears became the fairy cross stone.

Undoubtedly staurolite has a strengthening affect on the Earth Star, Sacral, Heart and Brow chakra that supports the process of grounding, centring making it safer to connect with the hidden realms where you may come across some fairy folk!

Embarking on a spiritual journey is not all ‘love and light’ - although that is what may be the initial attraction for you.

It about awareness and understanding your connection to you. It is about listening to your body, rediscovering the role of intuition and being vulnerable at times as you unravel the false ego generated light.

Many say, “There is no pleasure without pain,” and there is some truth in this statement. The soul can feel ruthless sometimes especially as you plunder through challenging times as the Soul seeks to grow, rebalance and transform your awareness into higher wisdom.

Ultimately, it is the polarised nature of duality - the light and dark teaches you to accept change as a human and how to love yourself and others.

This is an ongoing challenge. Some days you feel you are in the zone and other days you feel thrown out by life’s events… and that’s ok because that experience will transform.

Give yourself the time and space to do the inner work.

With the world stage ramped up in drama, it’s not surprising that many are feeling overwhelmed with emotions. All the while YOU are in a critical space and time of transition. We are between eclipses and are awaiting the Equinox - a time when balance is sought.
Whilst we are repeatedly being distracted with the “stage show” we are removed from being present in ourselves. Eclipses are notoriously powerful as we, like all of nature have to work harder to align with our own core of inner truth that is shifting.
The shadow rises during this time and stimulates hyper-reactivity and sensitivity leading to distortion if we are not present to witness it.
Our own inner battle of light and shadow takes place in the same way as our ancestors were (and still are) at the Equinox as we are all connected by morphogenic field.
We hold the ancestors within our blood and the battles you witness on the world stage are repeats of their battles. They don’t want you to fight, they yearn for peace.
Stop being enraged and fighting old battles that take your energy away from you!
Being present in you and connected to the Earth has never been more important.
You have a choice right now to choose inner peace or drama. Whatever, you choose impacts your future. There is a heavy astral field of enraged discontent that looms - are you feeding it and allowing it to control you? Emotional regulation is key to our progress. This is not saying that the s**t show doesn’t exist (because it does) but is rather keeping you grounded and inviting some logic and higher reasoning.
My medicine is nature, whether it’s stone, water, earth, the sun, trees, animals, it’s what we are.

Yesterday I dowsed I was deficient in the element of water - not about hydration - but the energy qualities of the element and then this morning “The Longstone” at Minchinhampton came into my mind giving me a strong nudge to come over. This is often the way, although much of the time I am unable to free my time up to follow my intuition. On Saturday 23rd August we have the new moon, that for us in the UK is at 7:06 am (BST). This new moon enters Virgo following the Sun entering Virgo a day earlier but what everyone’s talking about is that there are 2 new moons in Virgo. The second new moon in Virgo classifies as a true astrological Blue Moon but It is also a Solar Eclipse.

This next lunar cycle takes us through a Full Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse 15° 23’ Pisces on 7th September and then the next New Moon is a Partial Solar Eclipse 29° 05’ Virgo. With our South Node in Virgo we are clearly being asked to clean up and clear out to enable freshness in. Your health might become a focus and you question how you’ve been looking after yourself or rather not looking after yourself of late.

With the new moon squaring Uranus in Gemini there may well be breakthroughs and surprise shake ups in areas of your life that force you to do things differently. Both Virgo and Gemini are mutable signs which are the adapters of the zodiac asking us to be flexible this month.

Virgo is an Earth sign and is ruled by Mercury and we can expect its qualities to influence us over the next month. Virgo is most often known for being hardworking, practical and analytical but it can cause us to be worrisome and over judgemental to ourselves and others if not watched.

It is at this time of the year in the Northern Hemisphere that agriculture is harvesting and we are doing the same – we are seeing the fruits of our labour but it isn’t over yet although we might like to factor in some rest and self-care so we can be calm and grounded when the eclipses stir things up.

I find it interesting looking at the Sabian Symbols that Dane Rudhyar interpreted from the works of psychic Elsie Wheeler after Dr Marc Edmund Jones.

Below is the description by Dane Rudhyar of the Sabian Symbol for the new moon.
"In a portrait, the significant features of a man’s head are artistically emphasized."
Keynote: “The capacity to picture to oneself clearly the salient features and the overall meaning of any life situation.”
Keyword: Discrimination (I prefer 'discernment')

To me this suggests we relook at what matters most and put the emphasis and importance on the most essential parts of our life now, as we have left the egocentric Leo, that is expressive fire and we are seeking a higher connection and purpose to our life.

Plans that were made and seeds that were sown in the spring may not have bloomed as we expected – certainly 2025 has been unsettling as we see conflict and frustration. Don’t overcomplicate or be overcritical, it is not your role to do everything for everyone.

"What really matters" is the question to ask yourself. - you may want to simplify, refine, and edit your life, focusing on what reveals your true form and purpose and what and who you thought you were has evolved like everything else.

As the world goes crazy and situations arise we are called to turn away from drama and personality, and seek clarity, and the realignment to who you are becoming as an expression of the Divine Source.

A place to grow and learn about crystal healing

The Principal of Cotswolds School of Crystal Healing and Awareness Kelly Peacey has been teaching workshops in Crystal Healing and many other topics including dowsing, angel alchemy, developing spiritual awareness and her popular course Crystal Ascension Programme that incorporates crystals with sacred geometry for more than 10 years.

In 2014 Kelly was part of the team that founded The Isbourne College based in Cheltenham and co-wrote two accredited courses in Holisitic Living and Energy of the Cosmos (Metaphysical Studies) and went on to be the lead tutor for them.

Lauren D’Silva Principal of Touchstones School of Crystal Therapy and ACHO Chair asked Kelly to present a talk and workshops at the exciting Crystal Enlightenment Conference in July 2016. It was at this hugely successful conference Kelly was asked if she’d considered training individuals to be qualified as practitioners in Crystal Healing and ta da... the seed was sown!

By December 2016 Kelly’s request to become a member school of ACHO - Affiliation of Crystal Healing Organisations was accepted and then promptly in January 2017 the doors of Cotswolds School of Crystal Healing and Awareness at the nationally well known The Isbourne in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
