Rat a Tat Tat - this song includes some instruments, but you could use some wooden spoons, a saucepan and keys if you wanted to sing it at home.

The words are:

Rat a Tat Tat, I hear the Postman,
Rat a tat tat, now he’s next door.
Rat a tat tat, there goes the postman at my next door neighbours door.

Band crash band, I hear the bin men….

Ting a ling a ling, I hear the icecream van…

Music therapists are registered as Allied Health Professionals, and today is a day to celebrate all the work that they do. I have greatly enjoyed working alongside and jointly with Speech and Language therapists as well as Physio and Occupational therapists.

Collaborative working is so important to help best meet the needs of each individual, and this we're re-sharing valuable insights of the benefits and power of joint working between and other .

Huge thanks to Claire for sharing!

This term I have some space to offer music therapy sessions to pre school children who have additional needs with their parent or carer. Music is a brilliant tool to encourage many areas of development and working with a parent in the room means that any useful ideas can be continued at home. Sessions will be in Cheltenham during the school day.
Send a message for information about prices and to discuss your childs’ needs.

Thank you to BAMT and the Children, Young People and Families network group for two really interesting presentations about working with preschool girls with autism and work in a Parent-Infant Mental Health Team. Both areas I'm really interested to develop in my practice.

That’s what a friend is for

I know one of my preschool groups are not able to go in today, so I thought they might like to sing along with this song at home. Friends are great, sometimes sisters try to distract us while singing!!

We really enjoyed this counting song this morning so I thought you might like to share it with your preschooler. Unlike most counting songs it counts up rather than backwards!

It was fantastic to be able to get back to singing with the children at Glenfall Preschool today, we had a lovely session under the trees in Forest School. Afterwards I chatted to Becky about music therapy and why music is so important in Early Years practice.

Here Becky from Thriving Language talks with Mel an awesome Music Therapist.Discover what is a music therapist and why does music really matter in Early Years? Children hear even before pre-birth at about 18 weeks in the womb, listening and commun...

We added a couple of verses, so as well as the crocodile making us scream, we have a polar bear on the river to make us shiver and a lion by the shore who makes us roar!

A song to get you moving...

A nice, familiar nursery rhyme to sing along with today.

This is a fun, cumulative song with lots of sounds to make. The words are: I spy with my little eye, you can hear with your little ear, the big red bus/ little blue car/ ice cream van goes beep, beep, beep/ brrm, brrm, brrm/ ting-a-ling-a-ling and we’ll all go travelling by, by, by, and we’ll all go travelling by.
