I want to go into this year with a more positive note – not minimising or ignoring trauma, but accepting the facts of what we can and cannot change, whilst also shifting the mindset to help us feel better and more in control. Which brings me to the word trigger – a personal pet hate of mine, and I’m just not having any more of that. Instead of triggers, I’m going to focus everything onto GLIMMERS!
It might sound a bit cheesy, but I have found it personally transformational, and I hope you will, too. 2025 was truly one of the happiest years of mu life, and I truly believe it is because I changed my energy to focus on glimmers of hope, rather than triggers of sadness and fear.
A glimmer is a micro moment of joy – a small delight that reminds you life is good. Whether it’s a beautiful sunrise, the sound of a child’s laughter or even just being thankful for the air we breathe, this is how we create power and hope. In my day to day life, glimmers often come from interesting conversations with my patients, helping them to feel comfortable with a changing version of themselves. For you, it might be looking in the mirror and being able to see a version of you that, even if it’s a little bit older, you recognise and can feel proud of.
