⛄️We will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and will reopen Monday the 29th of December.

💊 Please be sure to organise and order any medication needed ahead of time to avoid complications.

🫂 Many people experience loneliness during Christmas. A phone call, a card, or an invitation for tea can make a significant difference. Offer to help elderly or vulnerable neighbours with shopping, clearing pathways, or just have a friendly chat to combat loneliness.

☎️ If you need urgent medical help but it's not a 999 emergency, call 111. NHS 111 can provide medical advice, direct you to the appropriate care, and help manage your condition.

❄ Temperatures are expected to go as low as -2C again tonight as the cold snap continues. Check in on older friends, family members and neighbours or anyone who is vulnerable. Not heating rooms adequately can make long-term health conditions worse.

Gloucestershire Royal Hospital – Update

This morning just before 8am, a small fire occurred on the 8th Floor of the Tower Block (Ward 8A). The fire was quickly contained and there is no ongoing risk.

Some patients were temporarily moved as a precaution and relatives of those patients are being contacted directly. We apologise to patients and relatives for any disruption caused by these temporary moves.

No patients were harmed, but some of our colleagues are being monitored for smoke inhalation. The affected ward is closed for cleaning and ventilation.
