Message from one of our Nurses: Jo Newhall.

10 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. To celebrate the fact that I am still here and in support of friends going through treatment now, I am raising money for this charity.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m going to be taking on Walk All Over Cancer this March to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Please show your support and help fund life-saving cancer research by donating to my page.

We are pleased to share details of a new Cheltenham men's mental health walking group starting Wed 11 March. Men Walking and Talking is a national charity founded in 2021 to provide simple, free, peer-support spaces for men.

The format is intentionally uncomplicated:
• A free, weekly one-hour walk
• No referral needed
• No cost
• No pressure to talk
• Just men walking side-by-side in a safe, informal space

The group will meet at Pittville Pump Room (GL52 3JE) at 6:45pm for a 7pm start on Wed 11 March.

This group is not therapy and not a replacement for professional support. However we know men sometimes don’t feel comfortable accessing professional support. Walking side by side non judgemental peers offers an alternative to help build connections, reduce isolation and create space for conversation.

You can contact Terry or Ian to find out more at www.menwalkingandtalking.co.uk/cheltenham or simply turn up.

We are seeing a rise in measles cases in parts of England.

Vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from serious illness.

We’re encouraging parents to check their children are up to date with their vaccinations. Check your child's red book or speak to their GP practice.

Many pharmacies have extended opening hours and no appointment is needed. They have consulting rooms if you want to talk to someone in private about your symptoms.
They can offer treatment and advice for things like:
• aches and pains
• allergies
• bites and stings
• colds and nasal congestion, sore throat or flu
• cold sores and mouth ulcers
• constipation
• cystitis
• dry/sore eyes
• ear of headache
• emergency contraception (morning after pill)
• nappy rash and teething
• skin irritations and acne
• sprains
• stomach upsets and diarrhoea
• sunburn.
Pharmacists are highly qualified healthcare professionals and can also advise on whether another NHS service is required.
