Alongside our day-to-day planning work, the team has been giving their time to projects close to our hearts.

One of our team members thoroughly enjoyed presenting and interacting with Geography students at the , as well as some of our team members recently engaging with the next generation at Careers Fair about the working world in planning and the various routes into the profession. Meanwhile, our Co-Managing Director, Jenny McLoughlin, spent a morning carrying out mock interviews with Year 11 students to help them build confidence and prepare for their futures.

Overall, the students asked thoughtful and insightful questions and were a real credit to themselves and their educational institutions. Our team members left the events feeling genuinely inspired and rewarded; it was a pleasure to be involved.

👏 A superb group effort by the team for getting 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 in Swanley, Kent – delivering 8 houses and 24 apartments.

This follows an outline consent which was secured at appeal. Key to our success at the Reserved Matters stage was effective collaboration across the project team, clear communication with the case officer and a scheme which evidenced how thoughtful design, drainage and landscaping refinements can unlock a site’s full potential.

With Sevenoaks facing housing delivery and land supply challenges, approvals like this are a vital step in meeting local demand.

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁 - 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 ⛏️💙🌾

👷The whole team had a great couple of days learning all about how to build a dry stone wall, in the beautiful environs of the Bathurst Estate, close to the village of Coates, near Cirencester. It was wonderful to play a small part in repairing a section of these iconic walls, which heavily define our beautiful Cotswold landscape. And to learn a traditional craft and have a wonderful time together in the process.

👏 A huge thank you to Andrew (Andy) Docherty, who navigated us through the process.

❤️‍🩹 Andy, who is an ex-military veteran, founded Walling2Recovery to support the mental wellbeing and mindfulness of military and blue-light veterans. While the walling events support the physical and mental recovery of veterans, they also help facilitate their transition into civilian employment within the rural sector. Andy hopes that now their skills have developed in this profession, veterans will be able to run dry stone walling events in different parts of the country on his behalf and continue to restore these magnificent, picturesque and valuable structures.

🙌 We highly recommend this activity for any team who is looking to step away from their desk for a day or two to enjoy a new skill while supporting a worthy cause!

McLoughlin Planning is delighted to have obtained planning permission for a new modern and well-adapted leisure centre in the area of Sandwell.

The overall approved scheme will help contribute to the investment of Sandwell's health and leisure facility infrastructure. For instance, with this new development being well designed by Architects, it has allowed for increased access to sport and recreation facilities, including to support those with additional needs. Heritage assets and the surrounding residential amenity were also taken into consideration to ensure there was no detrimental impact and that the new scheme would help complement the appearance of the existing street scene.

It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in this scheme, and we are so pleased with the positive outcome for our client. 👏 We are so pleased to share the news of Caroline Pitt being 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙙 from Head of Business Development to 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 at McLoughlin Planning!

⭐️ The lovely and vibrant Caroline joined McLoughlin Planning when we acquired back in May 2024 and since taking on the role as Head of Business Development, she has excelled and progressed in the Company extremely well in terms of helping to manage business decisions, track lead generation, ensuring client satifaction and taking charge in our marketing department. It has been great to see how far she has progressed since working with us. She has also worked closely and been a mentor to our Business Development Assistant, Elle Jones, on an array of different areas of work to help support and develop the business. Caroline has further used her initiative and presented new ideas to our Managing Directors, Jenny Mcloughlin and Nathan Mcloughlin to help progress the Company and is always on hand to assist and work closely with our planning consultants to help navigate lead generation and writing articles based on various projects we have completed at the Company.
