Wentworth Court

Wentworth Court Cheltenham's specialist dementia nursing home.

Wentworth Court opened in May 2015 and is the only care home in Cheltenham dedicated to providing dementia nursing care. The experienced and empathetic team offer both long-term residential and nursing care for those who need daily assistance as well as shorter-term respite care. Wentworth Court recognises that every resident has a specific set of individual needs and takes into account each resident’s medical history, as well as their life story, personality, preferences and interests. The attractive home has modern, spacious and light bedrooms, decorated to an extremely high standard and equipped with en-suites. Facilities also include landscaped gardens, a roof terrace, a patisserie café, hairdressing salon, cinema screening space and relaxation and family rooms. The nursing team provides high-quality medical care twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, supported by local partnerships with GPs, opticians, dentists, dieticians, physiotherapists and chiropodists.

✨A Heartwarming Saturday at Wentworth Court✨

This weekend, we were delighted to welcome the talented children from Variations Academy , who filled our home with music, dance, and joy! 🎶💃 Their energy and smiles lit up the room, and our residents couldn’t stop clapping and tapping along.

We also gave one lucky young lady a 2 month Scholarship for Variations Academy Performaing Arts training. Well done Niamh!

Did you know that spending time with children can have a powerful impact on the wellbeing of people living with dementia? Intergenerational activities like these help spark memories, reduce feelings of isolation, and bring a sense of purpose and happiness. The laughter and connection shared today reminded us how important these moments are for emotional health and overall quality of life.

A huge thank you to Variations Academy for making this day so special! ❤️

We are incredibly proud to share the news that a series of dementia education training films that we have been involved with for the past two years, has won the What Matters Award at the South West Personalised Care Awards, ahead of their official release next month!

Working with the Gloucestershire Integrated Commissioning Board and the University of Gloucestershire, our residents and colleagues feature in the unique set of 10 films, crafted by BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Kimberley Littlemore.

General manager Gez, along with Mel Meller (Clinical Commissioner Manager for Dementia in Gloucestershire) and Dr Ros Jennings (Professor of Ageing, Culture and Media at the University of Gloucestershire) were at ceremony last night in Wells to collect the award.

We are deeply grateful to our team members, residents and families for supporting the filming at Wentworth Court, which we believe will help to support personalised care for people living with a dementia.

It's always wonderful to get out into Cheltenham, so it was a real treat to take residents and their families for a cream tea at the iconic Queen's Hotel this week.

We polished off pots of tea, delicious homemade scones with lashings of jam and cream (we were divided to whether the cream or jam goes on first!) accompanied by good conversation and lots of smiles.

At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we remembered them. Lest we forget.

After lunch, we welcomed back the wonderful Amanda Jane Vintage, who filled the atrium with wartime classics and favourite singalong tunes.

Remember, remember the 5th of November! We’ve been stimulating some Bonfire Night memories and conversations this afternoon by making chocolate marshmallow sparklers! 💥

The residents had fun dunking marshmallows in chocolate and sprinkles, for a sensory and tasty treat!
