This bowel cancer awareness month.........

Bowel screening isn’t something most of us look forward to… but it could save your life.

If you’ve received a kit through the post, please don’t put it to one side. It’s quick, simple, and can pick up early signs before symptoms even appear.

In my work, I often support people with digestive issues — and one thing I see time and time again is how easy it is to ignore what’s going on in our gut until it becomes harder to manage.

Your digestive health matters.
Listening to your body matters.
And taking small steps like completing your screening really does make a difference.

If your kit has arrived… this is your gentle nudge to get it done šŸ’›

We’ve found that a third of people who receive a bowel cancer screening test in the UK don’t complete it 🚨

Bowel screening helps spot bowel cancer before symptoms start, when it’s more treatable. A screening kit will be sent to you every two years in the post if you’re within the age range for the screening programme and registered with a GP.

This is between 50-74 in England, Scotland and Wales and between 60-74 in Northern Ireland.

This Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we want everyone who receives their free bowel cancer screening test to complete and return it as soon as possible.

If you have any questions about screening, you can contact our nurses through our Ask the Nurse service: https://bit.ly/42sJThP

You wake suddenly and glance at the clock.

3:00am. Again.

You try to settle back into sleep, but your mind has other ideas.
- A presentation tomorrow.
- An email you wish you’d worded differently.
- Your teenager’s exams.
- Whether you remembered to send that document before leaving work.

By morning, the alarm still goes off at the usual time. Coffee helps a little. But the foggy feeling lingers through meetings, conversations and decisions that once felt easy.

For many women in their late 40s and early 50s, this 3am wake-up has become an unwelcome nightly routine. And while it often gets dismissed as ā€œjust part of menopauseā€, the effect on work, confidence and wellbeing can be far greater than most people realise.

Sleep disruption is one of the most common menopause symptoms, yet it’s rarely discussed in the context of work performance.

In this article I explore:
• why the 3am wake-up happens
• how stress and the nervous system make it worse
• practical ways to support sleep naturally

Because when sleep improves, everything else at work often becomes easier too.

Menopause can feel like having a rebellious teenager living in your body. From being wide awake at 3am to mood swings and then being too hot, it feels hard to stay calm, focused and on top of work and home life.

If your menopausal body feels like it is doing it's own thing - with brain fog, fatigue and poor sleep - you're not alone. The good news? There are natural ways to gently guide your body back to balance so you can feel more like yourself again šŸ’›

šŸ‘‰ What's your most rebellious teenager symptom right now?

This is definitely me today.

Getting everything ready for my daughter to go off to university next week, general stress and a lack of sleep are combining to give me brain fog. I definitely feel as if I have too many tabs open in my brain and it is struggling to cope.

I am going to take some of my own advice and do some EFT tapping to make it all clearer!

Drop a šŸ’» if your brain's running too many tabs right now!

Sleep and I fell out during menopause, and we’re still not on good terms! I’m joining a research project for the next 2 months to figure it out. I’ll share the good stuff here!

✨ Are your sleep patterns different since menopause too? Comment 'YES' if you relate and follow me if you want to see what makes a difference - I'll be sharing updates as I go.

Holidays aren’t just about sunshine and cocktails—they’re a chance to notice what really makes us feel good. 🌸

This trip taught me 5 things I’m bringing home… and one thing I’m leaving behind:

āœ… Sleeping more (menopause sleep matters!)
āœ… Smiling more (instant stress relief)
āœ… Spending more quality time with my children
āœ… Doing what I love—not just what everyone else needs
āœ… Planning longer breaks (and mini-breaks at home!)

āŒ And what I’m NOT keeping? Baskets of bread, pastries and pancakes every morning! Delicious, yes. But my digestion? Not a fan.

šŸ‘‰ Which of these would make the biggest difference for YOU right now?
Comment below—I’d love to hear!

(Psst… something exciting is coming soon to help you track habits like these to ease your menopause symptoms … šŸ‘€)

Are you already feeling anxious about your child’s exam results? You’re not alone. Waiting for GCSE or A-level results can be just as stressful as the day itself – for both parents and teens.

If you’re worried the results might not be what you hoped for, take a deep breath. 🌿 There are always options, and your calm support will make all the difference.

This carousel shares gentle reminders to help you stay grounded and feel reassured while you wait. Because no matter what happens, there’s always a way forward.

šŸ’¬ Which reminder do you think will help you most this week?

"Welcome to the very first Weekly Menopause Giggle! šŸŽ‰

Because yes — menopause can be challenging… but it’s also packed with moments so ridiculous that if we don’t laugh, we might just cry (and who needs puffy eyes on top of hot flushes?).

I’m starting this weekly post because laughter is more than just a quick mood lift — it’s genuinely good for your health. Science tells us it:
✨ Lowers stress hormones
✨ Eases muscle tension (bye-bye, jaw clenching)
✨ Helps keep your immune system strong
✨ Boosts brain power

Plus, sharing a laugh reminds us we’re not alone in this wild hormonal ride. Menopause is easier when we can see the funny side together.
